New CNC airsoft surgeon Hi capa grip not fitting!!!
Hello!
I recently decided to start a TM hi capa 5.1 project and decided to purchase the Airsoft Surgeon CNC hi capa grip. I initially did some research to check out the grip but could not find any information on it so I took the gamble and purchased it. I don't have my TM mags yet but I had a few WE ones lying around (they should be compatible considering it is a clone). I decided to place the mag in BUT IT DIDN'T FiT! I'm getting a little confused as to why airsoft surgeon would create a grip specially for the tm hi capa and yet the mag will not fit. Additionally just to let anyone else know the shooters design magwells do not fit on it either (I was hoping I could plop on my shooters design hot shot magwell... now I have a spare one lying around) Am I going crazy? Should I contact the retailer? Please help. Thank you!! - Topa |

This is a very common issue for aftermarket parts for hi-capa and most airsoft parts in general. You can't expect to just install parts in your hi-capa and expect it to work perfectly OOTB. Best advice I can give you if you still want to use it is to dremel out the grip so the mags will fit. If you're not willing to go through the hassle then you should just return it and stick with the stock grip.

Also if you do decide to dreamal the grip remember that power tools are a great and efficient way to ruin a new part. Go slow and make sure you are removing the right material. Its best if you can figure out where the mags are binding and then SLOWLY remove material. Also test and retest for fitment.

WE mags aren't the best to test fit with since they might be out of spec.
Get a genuine TM one and test with that. |

I got this grip not too long ago as well. The stock TM 5.1 mag fits. But it's a real tight fight.
Strangely, the stainless 31rd TM mag does not fit. Goes in about three quarters in and becomes too tight and gets stuck. I plan on dremelling it soon enough. |

Thank you so much for your responses! It turns out after some vigorous sanding of the we mags they went in but with still a section of resistance. I do not plan to dremel the grip but rather any mags that need it.
TheDuShen: Please let me know how your mag modification works out as I have already had an order of a few stainless mags that will be arriving soon. Also I will be trying out a DIY mod to see if I can get the shooters design magwells to fit onto the base. Thank you!! - Topa |

It turns out that I might not be keeping this grip as it is more a pain than a pleasure I ordered it from redwolf airosft. Does anyone know how I can go about returning this grip?
Thanks!! - Topa |
