Reliable Tactical Boots

Is there any tactical boots that can be one size fits all? And is it better to have a side zipper or not? Im into a L.E. SWAT loadout.

Im stuck with these two:

Try a pair of Original SWAT boots. I love both my classics and my chase boots. There are several places in the Toronto area you could go, try them on and decide which are right for you.

There is no one size fits all boots, maybe some tire tread sandals but not boots.

Side zippers suck; they break, they bunch up and rub your leg, the 30 seconds they save from tying your shoelaces just is not worth it.

Yea dump the zipper. Those Condor Boots are actually a good choice. I have them and they are a good boot. That being said there are better options

Original SWAT get great reviews
I do like my Magnum Stealth 8.0 boots
Converse boots are oh so comfy
Under Armor makes boots not sure about the quality but I love their other products.
Oakley SI boots are a very very nice boot.

Those are just a few options.

Remember SWAT teams don't just use black/grey/blue
many use Khaki, Tan, or OD.

Infact I remember hearing that Calgary ETF was using Multicam.

Boot ( & Shoe) makers are all custom in their sizing. It forces loyalty in lazy male shoppers. 11 is more like a suggestion than a measurement. If you buy boots Mail order your playing the boot lottery.
If you need some Tact style boots Original Swat, Magnum (HiTech) and Ridge make comparible Products. They each would be able to meet the Police Contract Minimum Requirements. ( Lab Tests Reports Included) Dispite the fact they are all made in China.

All three of these brands are availabe in the GTA and from Board Supporting Retailers.
With a little research you will find good reviews on Danners, 5.11, Oakley, Terra, Bellville, Rockies and Bates. You will even see a few endorsements for the Canadian Army Boots MkIII, IV, CWW and the new Issue Desert Boot.

After Eye Protection, your boots are (arguably) the most critical piece of safety equipment on the field. You should actually get on the Bus and find a pair that fit and function well for you.

Cheers

Ever considered hiking boots ? I sometimes play with my Salomon boots and they are really great. Great traction, great ventilation and a lasts very long. Heck, I have my boots since 2001 and they're still in perfect shape.

They offer a great ankle support, and most of them have a Vibram sole and Goretex materials for those long, hot and humid days.

My current ones were about that from Can Tire. Can't remember the brand...they were generic camo/hunting ones.

Waterproof, light...most importantly comfy and ankle supporting. Sad to say my $200 Danner's take a backseat to them 9/10 times.

Basspro has great deals on all the time.

Boots are one of those must-try-on sort of things. They've got to fit (with whatever socks you're going to use) 100% or they'll kill your feet later on.

I have a pair of bates navy boots which retail for about 250-300 and a pair of scarpa hiking boots that retail for about 200. I like the scarpas a lot better.

Durham Regional Police Tac Unit use everything from MARPAT to Multicam, all depends on where they are operating. Saw all the different uniforms at their supply depot and asked their sgt about it. Pretty cool to see. They even have the patches to match.
