Interesting discovery for anybody with a VFC Scar

During Nightfall, one of the gears on the hop-up unit for my VFC Scar-L broke from the axle. It still function for the entire game just with no hop up whatsoever. I knew it was easy to find a replacement but an idea just popped up when I looked at my parts bin. I had a plastic hop up unit used in the two piece TM style and I thought maybe this could work for the Scar. Sure enough, it fits with very minor modifications and it functions well so far. Will be posting up the long term effects of this as I'm treating this a short term fix until I get the replacement hop up unit.
