Prices for TM GBBs are insane!
See a few shops retail BNIB TM GBB for around $400 each?? Is that insane??
Why wouldn't we go for some overseas guys to let them boost the FPS a little bit then that is far less than $400, I think. |

Well your lucky you have come into airsoft now. Right now there are lots of GBBs that much much cheaper than $400.
The reason people buy TM is because if the quality or parts and their fit and finish. Most people are perfectly happy with a cheaper WE or KJW. |

I don't know if this will turn into a lecturing thread, or an "lol" thread.
Edit: in the spirit of not being a dick, yes, $400 is quite a lot of money for a toy gun. Most people just go for the cheaper guns, like the KJWs (I have several, along with my TM), but you buy TM for the quality that clones often lack. Plus it's cool to say you have something made in Japan. *shrugs* Just as a heads up, if you intend to purchase a gun from overseas that is manufactured at an illegal import limit, and then ask them to upgrade it and attach a note to say it's upgraded, it's unlikely to get across the border without seizure. Border agents go by the manufactured specs, found in documentation from the manufacturer. The only way they can know if it's an upgraded gun, and not just an illegal gun with a note attached to it, is to chrono it. That falls to the responsibility of the RCMP and their 2+ year waiting line. Last edited by FirestormX; November 12th, 2012 at 19:56.. |

A somewhat related question - what will break/wear out first in a heavily used GBB pistol? (Other than the plastic slide).

was it the real full black one or the tinted lower one? Heard that the tinted one is not as good as the full black...

I would advise against importing airsoft pistols in general.

BUT on a GBB, the things that will go first is the plastic slide if you run propane for any extended period of time. Depending on the gun, you may have things like hop up rubbers get swollen and warped or may break your mag feed lips if your too hard on them. There are lots of things that can break, its just a matter of when. With that said, there are people on here that are running some really old GBBs without too many broken parts. This is why a gun with good aftermarket support is something to consider when choosing a gun. |

At least the website has a physical address out in BC and two phone numbers. There have definitely been shadier sites.
Edit: Except for the fact that the information section portrays it as a British wristwatch shop. Soooo that's a little strange.
