Buy Guns Abroad
Hello, i have bought a few cheap guns from my local canadian tire and i wanted something better. I looked online and found a few nice full metal blowback aegs in the US. I was about to buy them when i stumbled upon something that talked about Canada prohibiting replica firearms from other countries. I'm wondering is this true and if so are there any ways around it? Thanks.

No you can't import guns.
If you spend time to read the FAQ, there will be a slightly different (but still mostly no) answer to that, but for now "No" is enough.

Actually, I was about to flame you at first, then I decided to be nicer... But seriously, read before you post. That will make a good first impression of you to any online community.

You absolutely can import some guns under certain circumstances. You will not be told how to unless you are age verified.

It is your right to import airsoft guns that are legally allowable in Canada. Ramifications for failure to perform adequate diligence are ... totally not worth it for toy guns.
Also, good guy Eeyore... Once again.

It is legal to import CERTAIN airsoft guns - ones that fall into the category of uncontrolled firearms as opposed to replica firearms, which are PROHIBITED DEVICES. For details, get age verified, or do some research. Use the search button, google, or read the CFC website.
However if you do choose to import, the onus may be on you to prove to the CBSA agent that it is not in fact a prohibited device that you are importing, and I've heard stories of that taking years to clear customs. Hell last time I ordered a few hop up rubbers and it literally took a full year before I received them. In other words, don't do it. There are plenty of Canadian retailers around, buying from them ensures that you will actually receive what you paid for. Last edited by pestobanana; November 29th, 2012 at 04:00.. Having said that, you can't import anything without understanding the peculiarities of doing so. The only place on this site that information is generally available is the AV-restricted section.
