I've been to Target Sports Canada located in Stouffville. They have quite a selection of firearms for you to try out. But if you go on a weekend, better go early as it gets very busy, and you have to go with another person as they wont allow going alone.

Unless you have a friend with a gun club membership and that club allows members to bring guests, then your only choice is what cav. stated - Target Sports Canada.

Again if you go you will at least need one more person with you and even on some weekdays it can get busy. So if you go prepare to have to wait for 1 or 2 hours before its your turn to use the range. Though you don't have to wait there, you can leave and come back a bit before you turn is up (after you have already signed up).

They have a selection of rifles (nothing larger than .223), pistols and shotguns that you can use, and no need for a PAL.

If there is 12 of you going, then you can call ahead and make a reservation. They have a package for groups of 12 (or more) that costs $100 for each person. Anyhow you can look up all the information yourself just visit their website.

Range is expensive.

Good thing there's coupons.

Buy quickly before it's over.

$45.

I would have loved to have joined the Silverdale gun club if it was not a 3 hour drive there and back.

Target does have "walk in - try it out" special for people without PAL. You pay entry fee, rental fee and buy ammo from them. Keep in mind that Target only has indoor/handgun only range last I checked. I was told that they do allow shotguns but only with specific loads. No long rifles.

Echoing Target Sports, I suggest checking out their website if you haven't already. Your best bet will be to go on a business day as soon as they open to avoid wait times though. Expensive(if compared to having your RPAL & ATT and your own gun) but definitely worth it if it is your first time shooting real steel as an unlicensed shooter. I've been there a couple times over the years. They have had .223 center fire semi auto rifles whenever I've visited. They don't accept single unlicensed shooters, so make sure to bring at least one friend.
