1x32 ACOG vs a red dot?
Do you find the 1x32 ACOG restricting in view vs a red dot?

Yes.
At 1x magnification I'd prefer a red dot all the way. But if you want the ACOG for looks, have at it. Last edited by brock0; March 11th, 2015 at 14:12.. |

An acog without magnification would be like an aimpoint m2 with a longer, thinner tube. Unless you really like the look of an acog, and don't want magnification like a real one, there's no good reason to buy one

1x32 ACOG vs a red dot?
I'm learning that now. Just got an ACOG from ASC's classifieds. As much as I like it, the only reason I'd keep it is the illuminated green/red crosshairs are über sharp and clear. The range of view is more restricted than my old 40mm dot scope.
Twice now I've hemmed and hawed over a 1-4x Specter DR. Lesson finally learned. |

For me it depends. For CQB (up to 80') a red dot... for longer ranges (but not so long to require any magnification) an acog as I find it's easier to get on target with a circle reticule than just a dot.
