Marui G26 Trigger Change

I'm pretty handy as I disassemble/repair RC cars and mechanical watches. Changed the pieces in the slide such as the outer/inner barrel, hop up rubber, etc.

I'm now wanting to change the trigger and mag catch but can't get the former out. Do I have to take the hammer assembly out or can this be done as is?

I've removed the front pin and the retaining screw for the slide rail. How do I take the slide rail and the rest of the slide release and trigger assembly out? The only videos online I've managed to source are for the G17/18 and it appears the mech is slightly different. I can't visualize the disassembly by the Marui exploded diagram -- but I'll break out the loupe and lighted magnifier if I need to. There has to be something very simple like "press here" to dislodge the slide release and it all falls out.

Yes, take it out. It is less painful that way. Be careful not to lose the small spring that pushes the silver sear out.
Picture of the "current states" of your pistol may also help.

I saw a video on the disassembly of the G17 and big warning about the spring. I was very careful

Unfortunately I couldn't get the hammer block out... I couldn't maneuver the trigger... bar? out. Essentially the current state is the slide out and mag ejector out. I pulled the pins holding the hammer and the trigger/slide rail.

I haven't found how the heck to take off the slide rail. I'll take some pics shortly for more insight. Thanks for chiming in!

So I'm currently in this state of disassembly...

I'm thinking I need to get the slide release off first but unsure.

Ok got the slide release out. I think it's clear sailing from here.

Well the Salient Arms trigger install was a fail.

On the plus side, I learned a heck of a lot about how GBBP works. On the negative, I disassembled the whole damn thing but couldn't get the trigger out. The hollow pin that holds the trigger in refused to come out cleanly no matter what sized punch I used. I ran a very big chance of deforming that hollow tube too much if I forced it and there is no way I can use pliers to pull it out because, well, it would deform simply by pinching.

The only way it looks I'm going to be able to swap the trigger is if there's a gundoc somewhere in Markham that can do this -- or I order another one of those hollow tubes to replace the mutilated one when/if I actually manage to get it out.

Anyone have any idea who I could begin to ask for that part? Email Marui directly?

Just a metal pin? You could probably make one or get someone to make you one.
Just cut a rod of the proper diameter.

I'd love to find a metal rod of the proper dia. It's got to fit back in properly to hold the trigger, and of course be correct inner dia to accept the pin holding the rail into the lower frame.

Some day I'll have a bucket of bits to use, but in the meantime I'll look in my watch and RC parts bins...
