Drill hole in stock for sling?

I have an Ares Amoeba AM 008. This gun has a hole in the stock for a sling but I have found 0 slings that actually fit this and I was told by a clerk at Mach1Airsoft that there is no way to fit a sling adapter onto the buffer tube.

This is the stock

Would it be a good idea to drill a hole in the stock to create a sling mount?

If yes, I have found 2 spots (circled red and blue) where my sling could actually fit. Which one would be best (ie. is most comfortable to wear and doesn't interfere with use of the gun)?

Why not just use the slot in the middle of the stock instead where you can attach a sling? Or were you referring to that, and not the hole above the red circle you highlighted?

e.g.

I mean sure you can drill a hole but then you already have that there.

Well fuck... I never thought of that. Can't believe none of the retailers I talked to pointed it out either...

I took my shitty sling that came in a kit with an RDS and sight protector

Cut off the part that only fits on the little holes

And took the remaining sling

And fed it through the slit in the stock...

Thanks for pointing that out, that made my life much... MUCH... easier

Someone enlighten me as to why it's impossible to fit a sling plate on an AM008?
Looks like a normal AR buffer tube setup to me, in which case any AEG sling plate would have worked, contrary to what the guy at Mach1 said.

Maybe because Mach1 does not sell a sling plate or the sales person doesn't know anything about the product they sell.

They have been out of bb shields indefinitely, and the sales person says you don't need a bb shield.

the hole that's already there (the one above your red circle) is for a quick detach sling mount isn't it?, you could just get one of those

I think OP mentioned something about the person at Mach1 not being able to attach a sling adaptor on the buffer tube, when there's clearly 2 other options to attach a sling on the stock.

I think you're right though, it looks like that's meant for a swivel QD sling thingie.

Something about this story indicates to me that sales rep at Mach1 needs their cup of morning coffee before going into work >_<

Ya... the sales guy must be completely clueless... more probably they didn't have it in stock and didn't want to send the guy to some other store to get it.

Check out Airsoftdepot.ca, they got every imaginable sling mount available.

Unfortunately, a lot of small airsoft dealers only want to sell guns. The little items, they are not interested in. They have to remember, if their customer goes to the competitor that has all the little pieces, and also sell guns, they can easily lose that customer in the future.

I won't name a particular dealer, but they don't even stock bb's. Because you don't need it.

Also, take a loop of 550 cord, tie a knot in it.. poke it through the QD hole.. attach sling to loop... done

Why not run a 2 point sling instead? Your stock already has a 1.5mm QD sling mount point...

Handsonic, are you looking for a two point or one single point sling mount set up?

Single point, just get a buffer tube sling plate, if you want a two point, then use a swivel mount that is on your stock, and get a bolt one mount for the front rail.

As asked before, why can't you put a sling adapter/ring on the stock? Everyone seems to keep suggesting it but I'm genuinely curious as to why they told you none would be compatible with the buffer tube.
