P90 M16 Mag Mod
Anyone know if the P90 m16 mag mod can be changed for a lefty shooter? Does it need to be changed for a lefty or is it comfortable the way it is?

a guy we play with sometimes has that "box mag" set-up for his p90. he's an old paintballer who switches right to left as good old paintballers do. i've never heard him complain about left-handed shooting, but with the way the high cap sits in it and the grip arrangement, it looks like it wouldn't be too bad what with the winding and all.

How well does it feed? Does it jam at all? Can you still do a mag change?

Not exactly sure why you'd want to change the mag... the M16 hicap is only there to provide a winding mechanism, the boxmag itself holds 1500BBs. It feeds as well as your M16 hicap; if you've got a good one, it'll never jam.

I thought the bbs were in the mag. They are in a seperate box? I'm confused.

The mag holds 300. The box-like thing on the top holds 1200.

Do you use the mag as well as the box or just one or the other? Where does the gun draw the bbs from?

It would be nice if they also made one of these, but a "light" version without that huge tank at the top, and just leave the M16 mag feeding mechanism in there so you can use M16 mags with this... that tank at the top is ugly as sin. That aside, the way it works is simple. Are you familiar with the inner workings of a hicap? Yes you need a hicap to power this; basically this big box at the top, all it does is act as a resevoir to allow you to hold an additional 1200 bb's.. SO tecnically you dont need to put ANY bb's into this resevoir at all. You can work this with just a plain M16 mag of any kind... even a locap if you wanted to. The way it works is that there is simply a path the bb's go from the M16 mag directly into the firing chamber of the P90. Think of this as a conversion kit to use M16 mags with a P90... And if you use a hicap, leave the back port open when you load it into the box mag, that way you can load an additional 1200-some odd bb's in there to further extend your ammo capasity... The bb's in the resevoir will just drop into the M16 hicap to refil it. |

Don't forget the space on the metal piece for the battery bag holding the large battery so you shoot all 1500 shots

So that's how they work! i imported one of those box mags for a buddy in Regina, but never having owned a P90, i couldn't figure out how they worked!!

Yeah they are incredibally simple. Only as good as your hicap though. But I found they wrecked the realism, and took away any reason for owning a P90. You should hear the noise those box mags make when they are only half full. For P90s is locaps or nothing, and even then you gotta find a way to carry them. Heheh I guess its the price you gotta pay for that compact little package.

I think the dozen or so that exist keep getting sold when people realize they're kind of lame... I know it happened to me.
