That looks pretty sweet - some serious real estate for sure.

Pretty cool . So is it built already or are they still building it? I'm asking because all they showed were computer generated pictures.

I tend to think all the BB's flying off the Diamond Plate would be deafening. Although, it's supposed to hold 80 players at a time...

Anyone know how much

it costs to play in the indoor places in Japan, HK....?

The real issue for getting a place like that going here is charging enough to make it pay.

Places like splatters make their cash on paintballs, $.10 a piece most people will go through what 200 to 400 = $20 to $40 on top of the $25 field fee...

so they are making say after expenses $50 per player per attendance..average

20000 square feet anywhere where people could get to it is going to cost an annual rent of $240 000.00 or more That is 4800 player attendances to just hope to break even
400 a month .. 100 a week 16 a day, then you actualy make profit on gun rentals...because your player base has paid your bills.

now for airsoft... no paintball sales, few rentals most people have their own.
$25 field fee. = 9600 attendances = 800 a month= 200 a week = 33 a day

hmm not impossible... if you also did some other things......too.. proshop.. kit sales, ......

but you would need backing of about 1.2 million to draw on to get it off the ground.....

Ok... shutting up now... have to call my accountant!

Looks like a speedball field, but using metal objects instead of balloons...

I would like it a whole lot more if it had more of a floor plan. IE rooms, hallways ect... not just a speedball style open area with oddly shaped crap in the way. It would be interesting to get a birds eye view of a game though.

Can you say ricochets? People that have played at the LZ in Ottawa in the early days of the CQB house know what I am talking about. 8O

I prefer CQB to be a little more atmospheric, with more "real-world" feel. This seems way too polished and organized for me personally. But then again... any place to play is a good thing.

I agree. CQB should be dirty, slippery and full of sharp edges like real life. Of course, there are insurance issues to worry about, but I dreaming a bit here..

Real doors. Lightbulbs you could break at will. Candy glass in the windows so you can smash it without TOO much risk.

Even small sections of wall that were made of paper or bristle board so if you didn't have disiplined fire, the BB's could travel through walls and hit noncoms in other rooms, also just like real life...

Who could afford it tho. Brain's math is very sobering!

Now you are looking at about 300 a person to make it break even. Still would be sweet.
Brian, thoughts?
