CQBR evolution *Updated April 2nd!*
Well, I picked it up as a "cheap backup AEG", not going to mess with it, not going to be a project, just drop an M100 in 'er and go... That didnt last all that long...
When she first arrived (thanks to Groombug :xmas: ) A few days (or hours, cant remember) later with a fresh layer of paint Halfway through her first game she fell... exploded the LAM and snapped a tab. This of corse ment it was time to have some fun. Wile waiting for some parts to arive and some JB weld to cure I whipped out some copper(?) abrasive pads and decided she needed a crash corse in the 'used' look. and a few pics with flash showing off some of the wear Will soon have a shorty M203 on 'er too... but I'm not sure how long that will last, with the metal body she already gettin heavy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Update April 2* Well, almost a week after recieving the M203 (<3 Dozer), a ton of dremmel work and a few days messing around with different paints (Krylon Khaki is GREY DAMN IT!) Shes finally "done". Im sure theres more to do... I've never actually completly finished a project before, we'll have to see what new toys I get in the future. I'm not totally decided on wether I like it better with or without the 203, one thing is for sure though, fully loaded with a batt, mag and shell... shes a BEAST! Weighs in at 8lbs if I remember correctly. 90% of that is forward of the grip :smack: . Enough blabbing PICS!! :-D Lets hear what you think!!! |

nice rifle.
just wondering are those the regular "camo colours" tan and brown krylon paints on it? The brown looks a little light for what I need but if that's the "camo" tan it might be exactly what I need for a job I'm geting ready to do on a rifle. |

The paints are actually "Aervoe" camoflage paints, the can says they meet "FS595 Color Specs" what ever that means... I picked them up at the local surplus (Daves).
For reference the skull on the mag is done with Krylon camo khaki and dusted with krylon green. |

595 is a list of approved colours for the us military to use.... if you were wondering.
Excellent rifle by the way, something about the non perfect look is.. just awesome.

Nice guns Oz. I always wanted to do a CQBR M4. Got a game coming that a CQBR would be perfect for it.... Indoor CQB.
Only an airsofter would simulate wear on their guns with sand paper.

Thanks for the kind words and info guys. Its nice to get some positive feedback from such established members. As for the CQBR in CQB, thats the other reason I got it. Its first game was out at the Ferry. I never liked the idea of a short rifle, but the more i play with this thing the more I love it. The pics really dont do it justice, I'm really pleased with where its at right now.
Oh and I wasnt simulating wear with sand paper, it was a dish pad... and I was trying to clean it  |

looks good, but keep the m203 away
as a CQB gun, the M203 ruins it imho |

957 Earth Yellow and 967 Earth Red
I also picked up a couple of the greens, just so you know the OD is VERY dark. This stuff is a little on the expensive side, I payed 10 or 12 bucks a can for it. |

With the adaptor it was really simple, the only 'difficult' part was figuring out which shims to use and that took no more than five minutes. You do need an adaptor to use it on a TM AEG.
