SR-16 M4 MRE RAS
It's been awhile since I've assembled a new Armalite to game with. When King Arms came out with their free floating MRE RAS, I saw a chance to make a new AEG. Sitting in the spare box was a G&P SR-16M4 body and a APEX Crane stock kit.
Some machining was needed to mate the G&P body and APEX stock. It has to do with running the wires to the batteries in the Crane stock. I also had a full length reinforced M4 outer barrel and a PRI front sight in the spare box. King Arms makes a complete set with the sight and barrel or just the MRE unit. it would be better to buy the full set because my barrel did not match too well with the MRE and needed some machining. The gun has a stock TM mechbox for now because it's going to be used this weekend in an indoor game with 300fps max rules. The Tango Down grip and Surefire M900A light fits tightly with the MRE which is good. Other brands of rail systems requires me to add some shims to get a tight fit. One thing I found funny about the King Arms MRE is that the markings can only be found on one side of the MRE. Not sure if it's true with the KAC RAS. Meals Ready to Eat sure are great when you're in a rush and have no time to prepare a meal.
Your gun is really nice too. Good job. I almost considered building one too... |

Very nice. I've got the same MRE kit. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/gallery...age.php?i=2780
I can't tell though, are you using the gas tube that came with the kit? I had to chop an inch off mine as it was too long |

No gas tube came with the basic kit. The kit came with the MRE RAS unit, shims, 3 rail covers and a vertical grip.
