airsoft vs paintball face mask
As I am new here and I wish to join in some future games obviously I need a face mask before I go play. Now my question would be can I use an airsoft face mask like so ..
http://cgi.ebay.com/THE-BEST-AIRSOFT...QQcmdZViewItem because I was searching for stuff on ebay and happen to chance upon them. Now because it has a wire mesh instead of lenses.. would that be an issue legally with the park or place we play and I have to have paintball rated mask? is there a mark on the mask that says paint ball rated in order to play or hows the whole deal work.. I was reading stargate afterthingy and it says this dudes been banned for using tac goggles. Lol I dont want to be banned so im making sure I have the proper attire. quote coming from website 2: WIRED LENS AIRSOFT MASK DESIGN: This is not a paintball mask. Airsoft don't have messy paints, so why use a lens? Wired design will never fog up and that is why all the Japanese airsoft players uses these wired masks (Sansei masks). |

If you're at a p-ball field like FR you'll need p-ball approved goggles.
Those might be allowed at regular airsoft sites but most likely not p-ball fields. Also p-ball goggles means the goggles them selves, you don't neccassarily need the mask, and many of them have detachable masks which is alot more comfortable IMO. Your best bet is just ask wherever you plan on spending most of your time playing and go with what they say, than if you go else where you might need to pick up some other protection or it might be the same guidelines. Hope that helps. |

Keep your life simple, use what is recommended, period. Use a paintball mask and as said remove the parts that are in your way. They are legal everywhere.

Bolle T-800
I havent heard of any field that doesnt allow them and they are more comfortable, smaller and fog less then anything else. |

look into the JT line of spectra goggles. You can get a whole face-mask or just the goggles,
I've been a competitive paintball player for 6 years, and I have never used anything but these goggles. They make th etransition to Airsoft quite nicely, one of th emost comfterable frames out there. With an anti-fog lense, they rarely/never fog on me. hope that helps |

These are much better than the SENSEI-brand wire mesh goggles, which I have also used.

After seeing BB's that shatter on impact with hard surfaces, you couldn't pay me to wear a wire mesh mask. I doubt any PB field will ever allow those masks due to insurance restrictions (confirm?). Looks nice though.

I've seen wire-mesh masks punctured by BBs, not to mention BBs smash into shards. I would never wear one of these wire-mesh masks.
