Peltor Comtacs and Boom mic / patch cables
Has anyone successfully set up the boom mic and patch cables foruse with anything other than an MBITR? Any experience with the audio input jacks, i.e. can they accept a standard 3.5mm patch cord from my Kenwood THG-71a?
Ultimately, I'd like the PTT and boom setup for my Kenwood. Anyone? |

I run them with Motorola SP-10s and SP-21s. The Y cable from the Comtacs connect to a Nexus TP-121 compatible PTT that has the right plugs for my radio. If you get Peltor or TCI to customize a PTT for your Kenwood, you can get your set up to work.

Thanks Hammer, I've been in contact with Peltor, who gave me the correct part numbers to order.
Of course, I'm looking at about $450 in parts on top of the $250 I already paid for the comtacs.... Yeah, laugh it up Matty. |

Ok, in case anyone is wondering, I found the PTT assembly, Y harness and flexi-boom mic. Price was $400 Canadian for the works, that's not including the Comtacs. The place has a package deal too tho for the Comtac II setup. It'll cost you $700 for the works.
So I'm wearing $600 in commo equipment, plus my radio ($300) for this fucking sport. I'm sick. Really. Somebody help me |

I guess this is a really bad time to tell you that I got my Y cable, flexi-boom mic, and PTT for less than $100 USD total on ebay...
