Very useful information Hype. Jt's the way to go. I went on a paintball forum and explained im into airsoft and wanted to be able to detach lower and the side parts of my goggles. I was particualarly interested in Vforce shield and morph. I had aprox 4 replys saying it was fine they both do that and was recommended to get the more expensive morph model. So off i go and buy the morph model, however after looking at it for an hour i realise theres no way anything can detach except the lens and the strap, darn! The goggles part(plastic) is glued to the rubber base, all i can do is cut it, but im not going to do that. Its a real good mask but its a shame it doesnt do what i expected. |

oh and Bigbiscuit after looking at JTs site i think these models can have their parts detached at the base, cos thats what you would want, if you want the option to aim better. JT Proflex7, proflex and proshield Dont buy on my knowledge though. Does anyone know which models can easily have their bases detached? Its good for me to know too. |

Hype hasn't been around for a long while.
Get a JT Spectra goggle if you want something detachable. They are, thus far, the more comfortable pball goggles I've worn. Though it's a bit large and sometimes have problems fitting under helmets. JT Spectras such as Proteus (v2+), Proshields, Alphas, Flex-7's all can be detached from the masks. |

In essence, you could just buy ski goggles and do the same thing, attach a bandana to those. As ski goggles are shatter proof as well.
And than you have tons of selections. Bolle, Oakley, etc. I use Oakley's personally. Hope this helps! Edit: Make SURE they are ANSI approved!!

Well that's all wonderful...I'm glad that you guys know so much about safety and proper eyewear...though I could have sworn that when I purchased my goggles I specifically asked for them to be ANSI approved...
And guess what?? They are..WOWEE! What an ingenious idea! http://oakley.com/o/o1331d (I have the Jet black persimmon lens) ... But wait...how can a ski goggle be ANSI approved?! There is obviously no danger involved in skiing! Oh but wait, perhaps if your alpine and enjoy forested areas a branch may strike you in the face, or even your pole coming up after being hit and slamming you in the eyeball, or maybe even debris coming up from your skis, and/or snowboard, or someone else's for that matter... Than I guess you'll lose your eyes!! ... Oh wait...look what I found! "...100% UV filtering, impact protection that meets all ANSI Z87.1 / ASTM F659 standards..." Before you go an alter someones thread, read up on it. Cheers!

And yes im not a complete fucking moron. I fired point plank at them with several guns. My vsr10 my m3 shorty and my pistol along with my friends upgraded mp5. Not only did i shoot it once but each gun had about 10 shots fired at it. Only thing happened was slight smudges that whiped off. Ansi Z87.1 is ballistics rated and i made sure to know what im talking about before i shot the shit out of my goggles. So kindly dont just assume every person is a moron greylocks. I picked them up at a PX in virginia they were labeled as ballistic/ski goggles.
