The SR-25 Noob Querry Sorry :)

Hi there ladies and gents,
I'm trying to pull together my ideal gun
[SR-25 Full Metal]
I realize it's probably gonna cost upward
of 2,000 CDN but its my favourite model
and it closelly represents the weapon my
Dad used

anyway my questions are these:
G&G SR-15 RIS kit to G&P SR-25 Reciever body
does this work?
and if so would it allow for a SR-15/25 Silencer
Is G&G the same company as G&P (sorry but it gets confusing)
if not please give me a link to G&G Airsoft Maunfacturer
Any suggestions Reguarding what to start out with are appreciated
i was thinking a TM M16 A2.
I really dont have much more then 2,000 to spend on the gun alone
and at such a high price im probably better off getting a Systema
but this is the look im going for with prefferably
little to no berral wobble
http://www.gp-web.com/productspop.php?pid=78
fourth pic down
one last thing the SR-25 Mags are they metal shell or full abs?
and is it compatable with the OOB TM M16 varrients

Suggestions and answers are greatly appreciated TYVM for your time
i probably have a few grammer errors my appologies

Why not just buy a G&P SR25?

No, you need specific SR25 mags. They're longer than the regular M16 mags.

talk to retailers. They can special order it for you.

keeping in mind, its huge and very rare. Mags will be few and far between. And since its a super rare reciever, if you need a part, its gonna be a pain in the ass to find.

You best bet, if you are really set on the SR25 is get either the G&G or the G&P, I think they both make it. Get the latest version since I heard of some minor problems with earlier versions(why they offer free shipping on them, its a tradeoff for something). I wouldnt build it up from other guns, get it in the final stage.

Its gonna cost alot either way, youd be better off just going with a SPR. Not as rare, but nice none the less and very compatiable with regular armalites. Far more SPR variations and parts then the SR25

1- Yes
2- Yes
3- No ( http://www.guay2.com/ )
4- question answered
5- metal bodies and one peice metal outter barrel will prevent wobble.
6- The SR-25 version you're looking at is a limited edition CNC. I think only 50 were made and I have 1 of them. :-D You will have a hard time finding anymore of them.
7- SR-25 mags are metal
8- SR-25 mags are not the same as M-16

Same advice. Email a Canadian retailer and ask if they can get one for you. The SR-25 is not really too much longer than a M-16. The real SR-25 is a semi only weapon and would suck if you played FA with it. It still uses a version 2 gearbox which is prone to cracking when upgraded with a stronger spring.

Sorry to steal the thread here, I just did'nt want to post a new thread my apologies. I was thinking of purchasing a sr-25 made by G&P or a VFC M82a1. I then changed my mind because the M82a1 seem to big to be practical. I'm now set on purchasing a UN Custom-SPR Mk 12 . My question is could I custom order it through one of the Canadian retailers? Now I remember reading somewhere on this forum that it could be ordered by one of the retailers in the top bar but, unfortunity I'm unsure of which one. I have a ghillie suit and I'm leaning towards the role of a sniper and I'm wondering if the winding of the gears would give away my postion, and if there is anything to eliminate this?

Thx for your time. And my apologies once again.

You can skip over to this thread of my SR15: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=17332
Looks the same as a SR25 except it still uses standard 5.56 M16 mags. Best of both worlds if ya ask me.

Sniper1111; ask Tru, he shouldn't have any problems getting an SPR in.

Or, should I wait untill the upgrades are complete?

Thanks.

Tru

Try Honest John, I think he took over ASC sales.

this might be conciddered off topic but its for this gun so im putting it here
A scope a scope my kingdom for a scope...
I have noticed on almost all the online shops they only list crosshair as illuminated and dont actually say what style of crosshair thankfully WGC shows some but not all.
do all the other scopes out there that don't list crosshair in the descriptions have a standard + died on the glass?
if there is a FAQ for scopes and scope mounts i would appreciate it if someone would point me in the right direction

Ideally 4-50x30-40mm not batery powered.
i know of some really nice hunting rifle scopes but am unsure if the lenses would hold upto a soft bb, in most instances it would probably glance off but if it takes the lense out of alignment that gets costly

is there a good airsoft company that makes such a device?

once again thankfull for your time and any advice

To answer some of that... You can blow a ton of money on a top notch scope for Airsoft, but it's really not nessasary. Airsoft guns don't have anywhere near the range and accuracy that most scopes provide, so it's a case of over kill. You can protect the front lens with a piece of polycarbonate, but I've used scopes for years, never had one break... although I've had two watches shatter on me.

Reticules are tricky. If the seller doesn't post a picture of it, the only suggestion I can give is to track the scope down on the internet elsewhere and see if you can find it that way. If you are age verified, check the for sale section... I got a killer deal on a scope in there with a nice illuminated reticule.

You could hold out for the cheaper Classic Army version that was previewed at the 2006 Shot Show.
