Use the Search option, advanced features, and look for G&P in the Reviews section and other sections of these forums.

Good job there Graylocks talk about telling everyone the same thing, I mean its not always the best option to check the reviews. Will it hurt people to reply once again to a question, I think not.

By these type of questions I mean questions that come out of the blue from someone whom no one knows, and it is their first post on the forums. The information is out there, and does not take that much time out of peoples day to search up. *EDIT - by 12 years, I mean me, not greylocks, I don't know how long he has been playing for. :P

If the poster actually use the search function, he'll stumble on this thread. http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=24526 A thread where McGuyver talks about his experience with the G&P Armalites. Greylocks give a huge share of advice on topics that aren't talked about every other week. You have to realize we see these questions every week, we shouldn't have to reply to every thread when people asking about experience with certain brand. It's people like you that pisses everyone off, people who can't do their own search and demands to be spoon fed. |

Red_Star, you are more than welcomed to spoonfeed everyone you want with exact links, do all their research for them, etc.
Go on, do it, put your actions where your mouth is. I'm sure your less than one month of experience will be of great value. I will continue to show them where to look for themselves and give them the tools they need to find more information. I can see it now, someone will whine that I dont play often at all anymore. Maybe so, but I can still read, and what I already know did not suddenly stop to work. If I can find reviews about G&P, so can he. |

Not once did I say that, I have adequate expirience to give my advice to people about airsoft yet. But on subjects that I do have some info, I do not hesitate to help a person out, not neceseraly by doing his research for him, but more likely giving him my very own opinion.
Im pretty sure that with all your expirience in airsoft, you probably tried the gun in question or atleast heard opinions of others who did. Im sure saying somethin along thess lines wouldn't be to hard : "From what I heard from some people this gun has the following issues: 1,2,3." |

You did not understand anything, did you?
Instead or repeating anything, I teach them how to look. Then when they have another question, they know how to search for the answer. THAT is what experience has shown to work. Again, if you dont like it, spoonfeed them. |

Yes, and if you stick around for a few more months, you will understand too.

Only problem I've experienced personally with G&P AEGs (Was a G&P SPR) that I've also seen across the V2 mechbox types is the tappet plate is prone to breaking within the first few thousand rounds. Snaps in the middle, what I've seen is it's pretty common. You will know when it happens when yo ufire the gun, it cycles fine yet sounds like you are dry firing and no BBs come out. If this happens, make sure you put at least safety glasses on (trust me on this one!!!), flip the gun upside down and check if any BBs in the chamber, then cycle the gun in semi and full a couple times. If you dont' see the nozzle moving back & forth, the tappet plate busted.

I have to say that the number one thing newbies are afraid to do is to actually get off their asses and go to a game and meet the players. Then all your questions can be answered no matter how stupid they may sound.
HERE on ASC we like to keep the stupid questions away from the stuff that really matters to the airsofters who visit this site every day in order to get the lastest happenings in the airsoft world. But everyone has questions. I have a G&P Commando and I love it. It is built very well externally but do not expet the best from its internals. I have had issues with the mechbox, the switch, the trigger, the air nozzle and especially the hopup. It really is a brand that you buy when you are expecting to change its internals. But if your new and you don't care if your gun is metal or not as long as it works and is efective. then Stick to brands like TM. I chose G&P because I love troubleshooting my own guns and am not afraid to take it apart and fix any issues it may have. Thats all I have to say. Everyones experience is different, don't trust just one persons opinion on such things even if they sound like they know what they are talking about.

Well said Prowler
on that note, I am announcing that I am sick of repairing G&Ps. buy it at your own risk. Some say the newer G&Ps are better but either way I am not touching another G&P M4.

Oh ya, I forgot to mention the other problem I dealt with in the SPR, one of the teeth on the G&P made bevel gear wedged in between the spur gear teeth, snapped off and shredded all the rest of the bevel gear teeth. Figured it was just a fluke, can't say it's common. The tappet plate snapping IS common though, is why I said as much.
