Im from Calgary btw, and im 16 Sept 17th... Im going airsofting during my Bday party, not sure were yet, prbly cochran or the indoor place here in calgary. |

Yea I know, my parents know that as well, I started researching into airsoft at age 12... I bought some of those crappy crosman "Softair" guns to try, they're pathetic...

1) There are already a lot of reviews & views on these two guns on these forums. Use the search button.
2) Contact the guys with JOC in Calgary, as they'll be the ones you'll end up playing with.

Im no newbie to forums; im an avid gamer, the first thing I did was use the search, I found some information, I would like more...
JOC? I've also heard that Ken at 007 airsoft overprices his stuff, I would like to know if this is true because he lives like 5 mins from my house and it would be nice to deal with him... |

Hmm, well there is an excellent review of the CA36K here:
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...highlight=ca36 The CA36 is just longer and has better range And here's a nice review on Arnies for th eTM G36C: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filn...36c_review.htm The choice between the two you've listed is simple. If you want to play outdoor exclusively, pick the CA36. If you want to play indoor at all (which JOC play a lot of) pick the TM G36C JOC = Joint Operations Calgary. Look at the top of the page - Communities/Alberta/JOC As far as 007, shop around and make up your own mind.

I've heard from many sources that Ken at 007 is a really great guy, never bought from him myself, I go through ASCA almost exclusivly because I live in Ottawa so its usually overnight delivery because of his shipping method and only comming from Toronto instead of BC and he has the best prices for everything I've looked at so far. |

Alright, going on Darklen's info might I be better off getting a G36k? Its basicly in between the G36 and the G36C...
G36 - Barrel Length - 495 mm G36K - Barrel Length - 355 mm G36C - Barrel Length - 247mm It seems like what i've been looking for... Ill have to look into it some more. |

Here's my $0.02.
As a beginner to airsoft, you haven't really had a chance to play with either the long rifles or the short ones. So my suggestion is start with the short. Why? Being short they're good for CQB and adequate for open fights. If you do find that you want a longer rifle, the G36C is easily modified to the K length (you can find the G&P G36K kits on eBay). I did it, it's easy. However the same could be said about starting long and going short. So it's really up to you and your preferences.

I'm going from my own experience and what a fair number of experienced players I've talked to have told me. When I got my CA36 I didnt notice any sort of range increase at all over stock TM short barreled guns, the difference was smaller groupings, the cone the BB's fired in was much smaller.
Think about it, how would a longer inner barrel increase range? The BB's are being projected with the same force and gravity is causing the BB's to drop at the same rate, the only way for a BB's to have a farther range before falling is for the initial energy emparted to the BB to be greater. This is all of course assuming the hopup is set right on all the guns. |
