Is Airsoft the right gun for me?
Hello guys,
I was browsing the airsoft armoury and really liked some of the guns. I would like to know if airsoft gun is right for me, I'm looking for an airgun to take to our cottage to shoot some beer cans with a scoped rifle and to scare away some small animals So i would guess i would need something that shoots iron pellets, I'm a big amateur when it comes to air guns, can you help me out please? Thank you. |

These don't and aren't powerful or accurate enough for your purpose.
I suggest sticking with C02 airguns -- they're cheaper and fit your needs. Airsoft guns only fire plastic BBs for the general amount. Metal coated ones are rare, expensive, and not really useful in a unupgraded gun. |

Hey, he has a legitimate purpose (pest control is a valid and legal reason to keep a loaded REAL firearm around; look it up) and is asking a valid question. No need for flames here.
To answer your question alexkolb, airsoft would not be right for you. The guns are usually much lower in power than a typical BB or pellet rifle, and as mentioned above shoot plastic pellets. Steel and aluminum BBs are available but they are hard to come across and will not get any kind of decent velocity from an airsoft gun. Your best option is to purchase a Gamo air rifle that will attain 495+ fps with a .177 lead pellet, which will punch cans more easily and be far better suited to pest control. Hope this helps. |

Airsoft isn't a good choice for small pest control and beer can plinking, as Gryphon said stick to air rifles.

you need a missile. Nothing removes beer cans and small rodents like a cruise missile.

i disagree, he needs a metal storm. Seriously though, crossman makes some nice semi automatic ones that you can buy at a canadain tire, should take care of it.

Umarex series. 450+ fps. Solid build, and GREAT looks. I believe they have the Colt Government "xtreme" series now. The Xtreme series should be better suited, seeing as it's got a scope kit aswell as a RIS kit.

Buy a Cz Slavia 630! I love mine!
Seriously! All metal and wood. Came to ~$140 with taxes. It outdoes any crosman in the same price bracket based on accuracy alone by...WELL HELL I DON'T KNOW! IT JUST KICKS ASS! -Cheese
