A couple finished projects *56k death*
Well, its taken a lot longer than originally planned for both of these, and there could be a bit of nit picking left but for the most part I think theyre done.
First up is the M14. I this is the third (and hopefully last) direction I'm going to go with this puppy. I was originally going to go for an XM21 look, then for a silenced tactical shorty look (not quite socom16) and finally settled on this. I absolutly love how it handles on the field. The short barrel makes it very managable and yet allows for a full length inner barrel (extending to the tip of the flash hider). I took the pics wile she was nice and dirty, just how an M14 should be! External: USGI M14 Stock USGI M14 Heat shield USGI M1 Sling FF Shorty outer barrel Eagle stock pack Internal: TK Hop-Twist barrel (switching it out for a Prometheus 6.03) Steel gears MS120 spring Prometheus Cylinder head Guarder Bearing piston head Guarder Bearing spring guide Prometheus Cylinder Systema Bushings PICS! Next up is the G-Spec Totally upgraded but I've never been happy with the stock... always hated the look. So I decided to try my hand at fiberglass. I got lazy towards the end and just coated it in some 'rock texture' paint. It worked well but unfortunatly isnt very durable and wears off exposing its white colour. Still, not a terrible job. Gotta get off my ass and get proper rings for the scope too. I havnt gotten her out much latly but she shoots like a dream! External: KM light weight 40 x 335mm suppressor Replica M3 Scope Swing Arm scope ring Internal: Laylax PSS10 Trigger Sear Laylax PSS10 Spring Guide Stopper Laylax PSS10 Piston Sear Laylax PSS10 Teflon Cylinder Laylax PSS10 6.03mm Inner Barrel ( 555mm ) Laylax PSS10 High Pressure Piston w/ Silent Shaft Laylax PSS10 170 Spring Laylax PSS10 Stainless Smooth Bearing Spring Guide Laylax PSS10 Stainless Cylinder Head PICS! |

Hey Oz, why are you switching the TK Twist out for a normal tightbore? Is it because you're shooting well above 1J?

Yup I'm switching out the TK as I am running it above 1J and am noticing that accuracy is not what I had hoped.
As for the cost on the upgrades to the gspec, hard to say, I got the gun almost completly upgraded and have put a significant amount of tinkering and the odd new part into it. Last time I added it up the upgrades were somewhere around the $700USD mark? I'll probably end up selling her though, I havnt gotten her out in months now. |
