Cleaning A Camelbak
Anyone got some tips to share on cleaning a Camelbak? About a month ago someone put gin in my camelbak and I didnt clean until a month later..
I got the gin taste out of the reservoir put the the tube is still....tainted. ANy tips on getting rid of the taste or just cleaning the tube in general?

I use a bottle brush for the bladder, and your cleaning rod from your AEG works very well for the tube.

Dude I hate gin, I told somebody to gill it up with water and it came back full of gin, imagine my surprise. Imm drunk i take a haul from this thing and bluh tastes like pine treees.

I"ve heard you can use the tabs that are used for cleaning dentures as well. I've never tried it as I went back to a canteen set up so I'd do some more investigation first.

Yeah you can use Denture ones too. Camelback sells cleaning kits that comes with tabs, a cleaning rod (for your tube) and and hanger to hang it up to dry for around 20-30 bucks. Avaliable at any (decent) biking store.
I do a lot of mountain biking and Ive tried with the dentures and the camelback tabs. The camelback tabs are nice because you dont have to rinse as much because the denture tabs are poisionous and leave gummy crap around on it so I'd just go with the cameback tabs. The refils are only $8 for like 10 of them and you only need to do it once a month. As for cleaning your tube just pull off the mouthpeice at the end and stick in your cleaning rod and scrub the crap out of it after youve had the tab through it.
