UMP/UMG/G36C
Alright, so i'm looking at gettin a UMP for my first airsoft gun, the problem i'm havin here is that i don't know which one to get. There's the one from STAR, and the one from G&G (i don't think any other places have). Like from what i've looked up on both there very similier, i was wondering if you guys could give me a little opinion, all the up's and down's of each.

to be honest, i think its harder to find the UMP as at least 2 of the retailers on the navigation menu sell the UMG but not the UMP.
try searching the forum for it, I believe I encountered something regarding this topic before many times |

If you skirmish a lot get two batterie packs.
One does not last me all game long.

UMG Bad
I wouldn't go with the G&G unless your going to upgrade the internals right away. I was also interested in getting the Uber Machine Gun from G&G but almost every review I read on it was bad. Most of the negative comments were related to the gear box having inferior gears and sludge for grease. So alot of techs had posted nightmare reviews of having to fix the UMG really early into it's life, most had problems start in the first month of use.
I would go with the STAR, for sure. Good Luck. Steve ghost-ops.ca

first off, ill tell you before greylocks shows up. it would help if you got verified by a rep, makes things easier and you can pick one up second hand maybe.
And yeah, the UMG is garbage, well at least the one from G&G. I hated it, excellent body, but they double feed right out of the box. Plus it is quite large for a SMG. I would say the G36C would be the way to go. |

But you're a slave to all things HK though.....lol....
Fusion - don't go cheap with your first gun, like all other first impressions, your first gun should be a good one. I've got a TM M16 A2, solid working weapon and very effective for my game style and decent range and accuracy....but then again...I love armalites....

Great point, I also agree. I bought a new G36c for a friend of mine who wanted to get into airsoft. The look is very close to the UMG and has a very fast rate of fire.

so what i'm hearin here is that the G&G is crap. alright, i have heard about having to replace all the internals right away, but i wasn't sure. the reviews i had read i think i read more good reviews then bad, guess i read the worng reviews -_-, but from what you guys are saying, i'm just goin to stay clear from it then. in the past i had looked at gettin a G36, and also an AUG, i really liked the whole AUG idea, untill i found out how the trigger worked, but know i don't think i'll mind it so much. so you think G36 or an AUG is the way to go?

Yup, I can vouch for the G36 series from both TM and CA, you can snag a large handguard or a battery stock to fit a large battery in it. Can't do that with an AUG but I've heard many good things about the AUG none the less, incredibly solid gun.

just lookin at G36C's from TM and CA, how do those to stack up against each other? like upgrades, disasembly, quality, preformace things of that nature.
I've heard good things from CA in the past, but TM i haven't really heard anything good or bad, so i'm at a stand still.

They both have their pros and cons,
TM have plastic bushings and spring guides that really should be upgraded if you want to put an upgraded spring in it, CA have more metal bits but they have really brittle pistons/piston heads that can shatter/strip easily (swapped mine with a stock TM one and its just great now.) CA guns feel better in my opinion, their fiberglass reinforced where TM guns are solid ABS plastic. CA are known for aftermarket mechboxes not fitting easily so getting reinforced mechboxes into the guns was a pain in the butt. The G36 series if ver.3 so a stock mechbox is strong enough for an upgraded spring and if it breaks just get another stock CA mechbox from one of the asian retailers. Having both a TM G36c and a CA36 I would recommend buying CA everytime. |

i kinda though CA would come out on top.
so for the CA36c, how goes the replacing of parts? pretty simple or time consuming? (probably has it's ups and downs on certain parts) oh ya, i wanted to ask, how are the rails on the CA36c? how do they hold up?

well you can get many aftermarket rails, but there pretty straight forward like most 20 mm rails. the longer the better.
I use a CA36K. I used to own a TM G36C. The quality between the two is unbelievable. However, Star makes G36's as well. However i havent used one. Thay make one with the to teir optics however. The CA body is almost identical to the quality of a real G36, and they come in a full length Export (g36E) a K export and the C length. Only issue is yes the piston. However all this was already pointed out to you. But be warned! If you decide to swap things up, like the handguard, stock, rail, scope handle, CA, star and Tm are made from different materials, and your G36 can be made of 3 types of grey, very ugly! |

so let just say i order CA's CA36C right now, is there parts/upgrade (doesn't matter how small) that could be replaced on/in it right out of the box, for like durabilty or preformace. kinda like.....cheap insurance(that make sence?)
