A new FAMAS
ive heard a runor here and there of the FAMAS being revised. i assumed this would be a undertaking of tms, but when i did a little digging i found G&G is releasing a famas in 08. tell me thats not cool. a solid, non creaky heavy famas.
i know im not the only one thats heard this, anyone else out there got a little better info, or even pics? |

uh.. the TM isn't creaky to my knowledge. I had the pleasure of holding one of the old ladies at ASCA. Still prefer other bullpups. fn2000 pls

agreed, i would love a tavor.
i had a famas, and theyre nice, but the older first and second gen famas' were made of a cheap, "plasticy" plastic that was creaky and looked cheap (dark shiny). not stupidly bad, but annoying. if youve held a sig 550/1 thats what they were like. a team mate got one of the newest gen famas' and it was made of a better plastic, visually, texture, density and it wasnt bad at all. |

itd be nice to see the famas take a large jump in quality. Knowing G&G the body will be kick ass, but the internals will suck...

I'm lookin to buy a FAMAS but everyone is sayin there sooooo creaky, are they really that bad or is it worth the investment. Keep in mind I gots a tight budget or I'd be buying a G36 or something a little more metal if you know what I mean. LOL

G36 is the best out there, the TM one has a metal backbone, and the CA one is made of fiber glass. So they win hands down.
BTW, budget and airsoft are an oxymoron. |

famas is nice, if you like it, get it, theyre not dissapointing at all. its personal preferance. ive owned both, and i couldnt honestly choose between the two, theyre were both my favorite guns in rb6 lol, its just whatever one you like more.
but i guess the g36 is more "solid" and chunky, where as the famas is slimmer an stream line. the 36 also has rails for attatching shit, whereas the famas... not so much. a 3g can mount a scope/rds no prob, famas... again... not so much. the famas' saving grace is the great rof and the extreemly long barrel, i believe its compribale to a m16's length. so its great for outdoor, but compact enough for indoor. the g36 has ateeny tiny barrel, a pistols barrel is almost longer lol, people will say the v1 box is outdated (and it is) but just about any v2 part works in the v1. so they both have good advantages, so really as i said before, which ever one floats your boat more.

About time someone does another FAMAS in this world of Armalites. Nothing wrong with the old one, though, but there is room for improvement.
Still, I'd be much happier if TM would make one, based on its 15 years of experience with the old model. 3 rounds burst (not all real steel version have it though), slightly more fps, revised motor mount while keeping old gearbox ruggedness would be good too. |
