Temperature

HI all,

I know this has been discussed basically before. However, in my searching, I haven't found the question I have answered. While I know V3 Mechs are better for colder temps than V2 mechs, I've never seen an answer to:

At what temp do problems occur?

I have a CA M15A4, all stock and I was wondering at what temp cracked mechboxes happen?

Thanks

Here in MB, our rule of thumb is -10C. Any colder than that and we don't chance breaking things.

Id like to see a sticky thread about the temperature discussion... It gets asked often and then the thread is usually trashed due to someone saying another topic exists (but really doesnt as the previous one has been trashed)

-10C max. seems about right for V2. There is some risk of breaking between 0C and -10C but its minimal

For V3 and above, Id say about -15C max although I havent heard of a broken V3 in the winter
