1970 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle<----- NEED HELP!!!!!
Hey everyone,
This rifle was actually my oldest brother's when he was little. I found it in the basement behind boxes.. and decided to play around with it.. The rifle model SS SUPER 9 Rifle was made in 1970 by a company called Takatoku Toys, Japan. Has anyone ever heard of this rifle or know the company Well my main question is, i tried shooting the rifle but dam... the FPS sucked.. it was probably like 100 fps or less... and right when the bb flew out of the barrel it starts turning.. it cant even a target thats 8-10 ft away.. The box noted it to be around 250-300fps. Do you guys know any possible way i can fix it? I was thinking of getting a new Bolt for it.. and the closes match i found was the UHC Super 9 Pro Sniper. Website for the BOLT---> http://www.speedytoys.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=321 Do you guys think it'll fit? Would the bolt be the main reason for causing sucha low fps? What else can i do to improve its aiming or power...? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!! Last edited by Muggy; December 29th, 2006 at 21:02.. |

If it's that old, good luck in finding anything for it.
Find a local 'gun doctor' and let them look at it. |

A neat find, but like Greylocks said, find a gun doctor to get any real answers.

take it apart, its probably a bad seal. (possibly fixable by pouring some silicone oil into the barrel onto the piston head)

Hey, yea... too bad i live in richmond.. the only airsoft gun docter was specarms but there gone.. so got noone to help out. and i think the accessories are all the same as the UTH Super 9 since people said super 9 copied mine. but i dont want to blow my money on a BOLT if its not that problem...
Also i finally took apart the rifle, and there wasn't much stuff in it. i have no clue what to seal up? make the bolts tighter? maybe i have to change the bb feeder? Last edited by Muggy; December 30th, 2006 at 04:49.. |

Do NOT change anything. Be patient enough to find a gun doctor (another local player MUST know bolt action guns) and see them.

Could the spring have been left compressed for a few years by any chance? that might have wrecked the spring not sure though just figure it mighta been possible.

You have, from my understanding, a pretty rare piece. The UHC Super Nine is supposedly a bad copy of the gun you have. It's a collector's item, probably a better wall-hangar than a skirmishable gun. It's worth is up to you....some collectors may be willing to pay big bucks for a 30-year-old airsoft gun in it's original box, even if it's not skirmishable. Keep that in mind as people tell you "It's crap....how much do you want for it?:
The company went under in 1983. so good luck getting help from them. Also, airsoft was not their main product - it was diecast metal robots which were adopted for the various Animes like Macross, Transformers, and RoboTech. As stated, probably the best resource for you is classicairsoft.net. One of the regular posters (sniperx) is an American who works for Escort Japan building custom airsoft guns - if he can't help you (or help you find rare parts) no one can.
