V3 with heaviest upgrade : jams.
Hello all !
I just finished putting back together a V3 gearbox with a pretty heavy upgrade kit.(the heaviest, or close) The gearbox seems to be working fine, but when testing it with a crappy battery pack, it jams. So while I am charging some better pack (more intensity), I was wondering if this HAS to be an electrical intensity problem (discharge rate way too weak for the upgrade) ? or if it's possible that a spring guide with a bearing makes the mount guide+spring too long for total compression, making it jam before decompression ? Thanx to help if you have any clue... I'll post updates. Jimski |

What spring did you install exactly and what are the specs for that "crappy battery pack"? If the upgrade was done correctly I would guess that it is your battery that doesn't have a big enough mah rating to cycle the upgraded spring.

battery is not strong enough

When the battery is not stong enough, the cycle begin then seem to jam.
When you will have a sufficient battery it will cycle correctly ! JF |

or he could have a M170 in there

ok guys, I will try some heavy duty pack.
(10.8V with 35 amps dr ) the batteries I tried are 2500 mAh maxi and I guess the discharge rate intensity doesn't exceed 10 A... So, according to you, long spring+bearings on spring guide = never a length problem ? like, piston goes in full compression but there lacks 4mm to go to release? thx to all! Helloz to Red Tiger ! updates tonite after more fooling around. Jimski |

Hello Jimski,
Bearings on a spring guide might shorten the lenght of the space where your spring fits and maybe give you a few more fps' but it is not the cause of your problem. Upgrade springs are made to fit in cylinder assemblies that have bearings on both the spring guide and piston head and they are supposed to cycle normally. Like others said above, you need a stronger battery (9.6v and up depending on your upgrades) to drive a stiffer spring. cheers

a 2500mAh NiMH pack, even at 10.8v is most likely NOT enough to crank an M170 type spring unless you have Infinite torque up gears AND a high torque motor installed..
It would greatly help us help you if you provide a FULL and DETAILED list of all the parts you have in the gun. Include manufacturer name AND the model of the parts used. |

high torque stuff is in the box. If jamming isnt caused by the battery (will try 30 amps battery soon) , then it must be some transmission problem, I'll check this out more closely before bothering you all with parts list and stuff like that. Jimski |

Why are you not telling us the details we need to help you?
Do you not know the power and brand of your spring or the other parts you installed? |

Generally, even a 3000 mAh battery trying to crank an M170 would STILL NEED an infinite torque up gear set and a high torque motor. |

we need to know the spring type. The highest we really use in Canada is an M120(PDI 170%), anything bigger is crazy...
you dont need to goto such extremes all the time.... |

many things could be wrong. Half dead motor, wrong gear ratio, incorrect shiming, missaligned piston or spring guide or other problems. Having a complete list of parts will be needed to have a better understanding of your problem. The gen3 can sometines "fall betwine" and jan up on semi. Did you try a NICD battery as ther often work better than the NINH crap.
As for setup go I've run the following in my svd without any problems: top power aluminium piston system ball bearing spring guide VKarms titanium bushings systema super torque up gears stork EG 700 motor systema m150 8.4v 1500 mha NICD battery modified for semi only fire
