Well now that I have a steady paying job I have decided to do what I have been wanting to do for such a long time which is buy into airsoft. I am planning to start sometime this summer but first need what else but airsoft unless I plan on running around throwing bb's at ppl :P I have done a tad bit of reading and have decided to go for a TM rifle since I hear TM is all round good brand and have chosen the AK47 look to forgive my lack of camo by using the excuse of insurgent :P

wouldnt this be a better place for this thread? http://www.airsoftcanada.com/forumdisplay.php?f=68
as for the first half of your post, yup tm ak is just about the best decision you could go with, but the whole lack of cammo excuse is kinda gay. if your not willing to get cammo and the rest of the kit to go along with your gun your not going to get much respect from fellow players. although its not a fashion show, it just says something about your dedication. |

You have another problem that you should read about before you make more plans; your age, and the age-verification process. This may save you lots of money.
Read up. Start with the Newbie Guide. |

Yah not everyone here has had a steady job for a long time you know. Some people are going to be limited at the start

You can buy all the clothes you want at any army surplus store. Bit by bit. The gun? That is the problem here and that's why I told you to read the guides.
Even if you start with the clothes, a few other things should come to your mind. Are you done growing? Will the clothes still fit? And you can also inform yourself by reading reviews, that costs nothing except your time online. It does not even require going through the age-verification system. |

TM's body tabs break almost too easily. Kinda pisses me off... Go with classic army if you don't want to upgrade to FMU-full metal unit.

in the end, its a much more cost effective way to go. To take a $500 Tm gun and sink a few more hundred dollars into making it full metal is kinda pointless when CA, ICS and G&P only cost $100 to $300 more then the TM....ASCA sells FMU Classic Army guns cheaper then TM guns.

the only problem with that M16 is that the barrel will wobble after time and it will need tightening.

Yep, and it does have a V2 gearbox vs a V3 on the AK. The AK looks better too It has its reasons for being often recommended as the best overall TM AEG for both novice and pro.
If you want a good metal AK for a reasonable price - go with either the ICS or the G&G... Cheers, Alex |

For price information; contact the retailers directly?
You seem to forget, in your eager interest, that you will not be able to buy an airsoft gun until you are 18 and can prove it. Please read about the restrictions for playing and even handling/owning an airsoft. Take your time reading about the various models, their pros and cons, the 'best gun' discussions, the 'how to choose' threads, and the way they are built. The last thing you want is to buy a pretty gun that gets mentioned all the time in the Doctor's Corner, for example, or that will require almost immediate complex repairs to work well. When you are ready, and can legally buy one, go to a few games to observe first. It will greatly help you in your final decisions. |

I went to Google and typed in ACU tactical vest and this is the first one of about a 1000 possible hits for you to sift through. Do just a little more digging. Check Ebay call your local surplus stores.

Greylocks, if you can show me where it says someone under-age cant handle an airsoft gun, than Ill believe you. If not, stop saying it to us newbies.
