MP5SD3 vs Real Steel
I got to compare my ICS MP5SD vs the exact same model by H&K.
The feel is similar, but really not the same. The higher quality alloys (ICS) vs the higher strength materials in the real version make them feel different. The ICS has thinner, lighter metal walls that have a much higher pitched "tink" sound when you tap them with your nail. One of the most interesting differences was the suppressor. In the real version, the front suppressor goes in another 4 inches or so, and can be screwed out in about 5 seconds. What comes out is a 8-10" screw-on cylinder which is sealed with the special metal matrix (you can read about it if you research the gun) of venting ports. In the ICS version, the suppressor does not just screw off of course, but the tip comes off, revealing the recessed barrel end followed by a short 4 inches or so of foam damping with a metal grill cylinder that slips in between that. The handle, selector switch and overall look of the handle and plastic is very similar. The ejector port is not even comparable. The real one has one, the ICS doesn't. I'm using a cheap red dot scope, which is pretty cool but - well... The real one had an EOTech holographic system on it. Wow...I was really impressed. It was so clear and sharp, and worked seamlessly with night vision equipment. And then the cost...$500 US or so. http://www.eotech-inc.com/lawe_hwsmodels.php Take a look. If you've got cash to burn then maybe buying the real thing would work well for your airsoft! I learned something too. There was/is no visible projected laser available, because they are illegal on real firearms. So we're "one up" on them there. (this only applies in Canada)

Shame you don't have side by side pictures. That would have been killer.

I should be able to do pictures. Is there a replica Eotech holographic sight I can buy?

Yeah, but it's a red-dot (NOT holographic) and costs 2/3 the price of a real Eotech....

You could pick up a Bushnell Holosight on EPay for a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than an Eotech.
