Any Disassembly Guides for TM or KJW 1911's?
Hi, I have a KJW 1911 which I believe is a clone of the TM 1911.
I would like to learn how to fully disassemble her besides just the basic taking off the slide from the lower receiver, separating the recoil spring from the guide and plug etc... I'd like to go a step further and find out how to take out the inner barrel from the outer barrel for example or how to take out the hopup bucking or how to remove the hammer spring and sears. If there are any good guides out there or videos, I would love to find out about it with your help! Thanks |

Press in the recoil spring plug from the muzzle of the gun (it's the knurled thing located under the outer barrel.)
Rotate the barrel bushing till it stops. Extract the barrel bushing and recoil spring plug Push the outer barrel out from the inside. Disassemble of all these main parts is exactly like real steel - there's several guides on this online with pictures. Search "1911 barrel bushing" Here's one: http://www.bobtuley.com/45/pistol_03.htm |

Okay I opened her up today, except I couldn't figure out how to take the inner barrel+hopup assembly out from the outer barrel?

Try rotating the inner barrel assembly towards the open side as you're pulling it out.

Can I ask why you want to take a (supposedly) perfectly working gun that far apart? Is it broken or do you just feel like tempting fate?

You'll have to flex the chamber open to get the inner barrel out. Don't worry, the plastic is pretty flexible and won't break under the stress.
Yes, Grey. He's tempting fate. |

He's planning on putting a tightbore in.

You're not suppose to flex the hop up unit. You flex the outer barrel's chamber - flex it just enough for the hop up unit to slip past.
Note: when I say "chamber", I'm referring to the naming convention for the equivalent real steel part. The airsoft version's "chamber" doesn't work the same way as a real steel chamber, although it does work similarly. The "chamber" is the area that the hop up unit/barrel assembly moves around in. |

I can't flex it! It's like solid aluminum, how are you guys bending it?
