KSC USP question

hey to everyone,

I have two questions regarding the KSC USP:

1. what is the difference between the Japan and the Taiwan version of the pistols. i have looked at them both, and they both have identical specs.

2. where can i obtain a metal slide for a USP .45 standard? i have unfortunately only have found a metal slide for the compact version.

Thanks,

1/ Seems that KSC has all parts made in Japan, but assembled in Taiwan. The Japanese versions are sent back to the KSC plant for a second QC inspection, then stamped JASG somewhere (usually under the barrel on the frame) then sent to retailers. Pretty much the only difference.

Quality-wise, it's probably not worth spending an extra $125CDN for the Japanese version - the difference is minimal, if any. Also, you may want to look at the KWA version. I'm not sure about the USP, but most of their guns are basically KSC guns with a lower standard QC - plus some come with stock metal slides. If you look around, you'll find that both KSC and KWA guns are made in the same factory, except KWA are without trades and sold from Taiwan; meaning they are not subject to high Japanese taxes, which is why they are cheaper.

As for slides, you may want to look at HK retailers if Canadian ones don't have them in stock. (Note: ASC has reputable dealers listed at the top next to Mr. Godzilla) As for shipping them into Canada, that may be another story - CDN customs BLOWS. So you may want to take advantage of group orders that go on every so often here, or ask a Canadian retailer to specially ship it in for you.

Hope that helps.

jugglez / airsoftparts.ca can get you the metal slide and the difference is that the japan version has better QC and also has 2 more trademarks that are missing on the taiwan version. i have the taiwan version.
