Any feedback on the CA SCAR?
I am just curious as to what the SCARR is like. Does CA still suffer from QA issues? Is the SCAR generally reliable? Any feedback from those that have them would be welcome.

CA still has huge QC issues. My fiance and I both purchased CA SCAR's and her tappet plate broke in less than 100 shots and my motor stripped itself in less than 1000. If you want to buy CA, make sure that you upgrade its internals from the start. That's just my opinion though.

The tappet plate problem was mentioned in another thread. Its VERY common, dont be swayed by that detail. Replace it before using it, u'll have a quite reliable aeg. (then again, upgrades always do wonders :angel

Replace the crappy yellow CA piston as well. I've had the same SCAR on my bench three times, was bone stock and on separate occasions, the motor chewed itself up because a tooth from the bevel gear snapped off and stuck in the spur gear, jamming it all (first game out); and the stock piston fragged the mechbox (second game out). Third time was just to upgrade it's performance and install more reliable TM parts just to get the stock CA parts to a minimum.
Overall it's not a bad gun, is quite accurate, it just needs some preventative part replacements for reliability. Considering the gun I worked on was Chef/Jackals and he has the worst luck with anyone's guns (aka. don't let him try any of yours out, guarateed to break! Lol, "kinda" kidding)................. he's since gone 4-5 games using his SCAR and it hasn't pooped out on him yet. So he called it "Chef Approved". If a gun lasts 6months in Chef's hands, it should last a lifetime in other's. Lmfao |

Had mine for a 2 month now. Fired about 2000 bbs with it, original tappet plate (got a systema replacement in case it brake) put a prometheus ms100 in it and didnt have any problems at all. Its the 3 Classic army i own; never ever had any problems with any of them...

I have CA SCAR which tappet plate broken less than 5 mins before it got in the first game. Bought KingArms V2 tappet plate and upgraded the spring with Madbull M100 the SCAR is running really smooth. I don't know about the motor, nothing has occurred yet.
With CA stuff, you'll have to upgrade it anyways, this goes with VFC too. VFC Hk416 had few crappy internals and you'll eventually have to replace few parts. |

I must be lucky then...
Seems i'm the only one who didnt experience tappet plate failure on the scar. I wont change it until it brake... mechbox removal on this rifle is a pain in the ass!

Since Stalker has put the TM parts in my SCAR it has never ran better. However my friend, the external was another problem. When I went to paint and put painters tape down to protect some of the area, the tape pulled off the base paintjob. Even now, after about 6 games or so, the paint is starting to peel off a bit. The SCAR has some major flaws in the internals, Once you get past that its fine. |

My CA G3-SG1 is bone stock and i put at least 2000 rounds thought it and it as not had any internal problems(my stock broke after its first game). i plan during my off season to drop an entire new mech box in it and keeping the old mech box as my back-up/CQC MB.
plus i cant wait for the CA SCAR H in black. |
