WA 1911A1 on Propane
As most of you know i recently purchased a WA SCW 1911A1 mkIV Series 70.
I'm looking to upgrade it so it can safely use propane and i was told to get a new recoil spring (i'm guessing stronger?) and one of those AI Flow Restrictor. Problem is i have no idea what recoil spring to get and where a AI Flow Restrictor is available (so far out of stock on the sites i know of). Anyone with this gun can help me out please? I know nothing about GBB so any bits of info about this WA is much appreciated. I also don't know if its the same as other 1911's or WA 1911's and if info on them is valid for this gun. Thank You for the help. P.S: What i know for sure: The gun will break with propane quickly. Metal slide fixes breaking issue, but i'm not willing to spend $150 for it yet. It's such a sexy gun |

Office supply stores and stationers carry computer duster in cans. Since you can use HFC 134a in your gun you might want to investigate those sources. Just make sure the cans say they contain tetrafluoroethane. There's also this I found using Google in 5 seconds:

I have already looked into the duster can possibility. I was told that the gun would have less fps than on green gas. Which i find pretty lame. I also don't have the duster can adapter (ordered the propane adapter... cant say i received it since i'm getting no news about the order +1week after).

Don't risk the propane.
Use Tetrafluoroethane ONLY. Difflourouthane (or someshit like that) corrodes your seals. Look for MG Chemicals. I have a supplier, but he seems to be way too busy these days. |

My GBB is rated around 310fps with green gas |

What did you search? I only get 'use propane' 'propane is green gas' answers.

Is that a recoil spring for the WA 1911 series 70? How do i know if it's 'stronger'? Edit: Illusion found this http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=GD-PT-WA02 It say's for colt 45... does that mean any colt 45 or...? |

Get a metal slide (SD, or Prime is nice), and run it on propane. If you want a trigger job for a lighter pull (light pulls are nice, they make it real easy to double tap) , I can probably do that. Hell, I could probably do it at a game if I ever manage to get my team squared away! hahahahah... RONAN, just go on msn, I'll tell you what you need to do. It beats spamming ASC Also... - Colt 45 Series - Hi-Capacity Series - Prokiller Series - infinty Series The highlighted is yours. Last edited by Lakonian; September 7th, 2007 at 23:40.. |

got a custom 1911:
WA Vreaker 12 converted into a Para P14-45 with bushing and long recoil spring guide and a stronger spring as well as a real steel MSH. My slide is plastic and I've been running it on propane and everything seems quite in order on my side... Got a question though; I heard metal slides will go through customs with no problems, is that even true?
