Users not able to change thread titles?
I've noticed now that as a regular user I am not able to change/edit the titles of threads I have created. Also there is a ever-growing amount of for sale ads in the buy and sell that are for items that have been sold, clogging up that part of the board.
Giving users the ability to edit thread titles they have created would enable users to change their thread title to "SOLD" or "DELETE" etc once they have sold their items, making it easier for the mods to keep that part of the board clean. |

I always thought it was a glitch, not a permissions thing?

funny story kokanee. i knew about this problem for some time as im constantly selling, but when i sold an item the other day, i posted in the thread saying "sold please delete" well some over zeleous moderator infracted me for "excessivly" bumping my thread!! tell me thats not the biggest load of bs youve heard. and when i called him on it he had no real grounds for it (nore the maturity to admit he had made a mistake) and told me tough, its the rules and wasnt open to discuss it.

nope. i pm'd several other mods in an attepmt but all came up with "ya ill look into it".... needless to say i still have it.

What was the date of the infraction? In your post, you said it happened "the other day", but when I look at your infractions, your last one was received on july 18th. That was 2 months ago.
EDIT: I just reversed your July 18th one, as that one was a legitimate bump, happening 8 days after the previous one.

I noticed the same problem.I cannot edit the thread titles.
Can someone fix it?

Swatt13 I never received a PM from you asking to looking into any infractions, who'd you PM?
Like Illusion I too looked into your infractions and the last one I could see was from back in July, so not sure what your talking about "the other day" Titles can be be changed by mods, so if you make an honest mistake and need a change pm one of us, hell feel free to PM me and I'll fix it the next time I log on.

Or easiest way is to just report your post and include what you want the title to be. Then the first mod who sees the reported post will be able to change it for ya.

"the other day" is a figure of speech. it was in july. i didnt want to name any mods that i contacted as i didnt want to stir the pot as im sure they had good intenions of resolving the issue, but it never happened and there are prolly reasons why. illusion took care of it and im thankful. im not sure if i contacted you blood, i contacted mods i had contact with before and had a repore with.

Okay thats cool, just other day and a few months ago is a big difference.

Have been a few times I've started a new thread, submitted it, then realised I made a typo in the title. Having it editable woudl definitely be a useful thing. A few times I've seen people complain about someone's title (recall the one regarding undercover officers being among the mob of protestors last month) and a few people complained about the inappropriate title. It'd be nice if the one who posted it in the first place could edit as easily as the message.
BTW, a couple/few years ago, weren't we able to edit the thread title? |
