Need help upgrading my G3 SAS

Hey all, I just bought a used G3 SAS which is still essentially stock, and am looking to upgrade it's FPS and Barrel length, i read the other thread on that subject but because i am new i was pretty confused about it if anyone could give me some tips on wha to do/buy, thatd be awsome I'm thinking is a 150% or 170% PDI spring, attaching a tight bore barrel (about 50mm-100mm) housed inside a silencer and an upgraded gear set, is there anything I am missing? any problems anyone can catch, if so if you could go into detail and explain a little to me, that would be appreciated.

If you change your barrel length you may need a new cylinder. Is this for CQB? If it is try to get around 350FPS, use .25g BBs and focus on rate of fire.

Replace your:
probably looking a type 2 cylinder or an MP5 cylinder which will support a 227-430mm long barrel.
plastic bushings with metal bushings not bearings
reshim your gears (if necessary)
systema POM piston head with bearing. You can remove the piston head from a TM piston so use it.
the new spring, the 150% will be easier on your MB and your rate of fire will be descent.
Mosfet switch will up your batter life and ROF. They are cheap too, well worth the money. http://forums.airsoftmechanics.com/i...hp?topic=439.0 (Tell Frank Matt Lawson sent you, he is a great guy)

If you can fit a 9.6v you could use torque gears on the 170% or use some high speed gears. I would not expect it to last long though. I like 6.03 Prometheus and 6.01 DB customs barrels. A mp5 QD, quick disconect, silencer should work on your preexisting muzzle device.

Anything beyond this can weight until you break something. I would strip my gears first. I got 50,000 on my TM gears with an M120.

thx a bunch, i've just got a question about barrel lenght upgrade, when i buy the custom barrel, is it a replacement of the old one, or is it an extension housed inside the silencer?

Is this the very short G3 or the CA version? Because you may reach a point where buying a G3SG1 might make more sense.

The barrel is the internal part that will then extend beyond the frame. It is not in two parts.

Have you ever taken an AEG apart, completely? You might want to study that for a while before jumping into modifications. Some of this tuff is not easy to do when you've never seen it done, or tried. Mistakes become expensive in a hurry.
