REALISM = Fun?
I'd like to see how many MILSIM players we actually have here, and how many people secretly prefer a play-style more akin to paintball.

No room on the poll for people who fall between milsim and casual skirmish?

Yeah, I'm between milsim and 'fill up a hicap'.
I hate hicaps I hate super serious players |

I usually prefer the more relaxed Skirmish, but a good Milsim is allot of fun.
Out of all the games I went to this year Quick Pass was the Top for sure. |

I fall into the catagory of "Don't give a shit, I play all games to the best of my ability, be it immersion into a realistic role, or just full bore shitfest".

One look at my basement floor after a weekend with the buddies says I'm up for the non-realistic gameplay as well.
But the reason I play more Airsoft than Paintball (Yeah, I do play both) is due to the realism offered to Airsoft. Paintball is, as Stalker coined it, for those "full bore shitfests," which can be a hell of a lot of fun.

I like realism, I hate hi caps, all my mags are real caps, though I don't mind the odd skirmish because that is what I spend most of my time doing anyhow, an good milsims in our neck of the woods are few and far between. Though at this point if there are any good one's in the works I'd rather be involved in a milsim rather than another day of run and gun. I'd also like to try indoor CQB games but we lack an indoor facility willing to house such games in my area. The only place we were remotely able to do that was the Ferry in Mission which was really sweet.

I like realism. However there are times when all I want to do is whip out the high caps and dual wield my P90 and my FAMAS while yelling "VIVE LA RESISTANCE".

I LOVE milsims, but there are games when I just want some trigger time and the opportunity to fire 10000 bbs from my saw

Yeah, I play as a Monk13/DragonShaman5. Who cares if it doesn't make a lot of sense in-game.

As for gametypes, I'll play anything. I've even played speedball, which was fun despite being silly and unrealistic. Bright colours and balloons! |

Having never played a full Milsim I don't have a complete opinion yet but I do really enjoy scenerio's (2-3hr games with objectives), and at the same time I enjoy a good skirmish too. They each have their pros and cons.

Never played the roll of a BB hose, frankly Ive never played a game where I have fired more than four 68rnd mags.I enjoy the milsim to a point, but when it gets too serious the fun sort of leaks away. Hell Ive played a 6 hour game and only fired 1 pistol mag worth. Dont get me wrong the lack of shots didnt stop me from having fun though.

I like the play in the middle of the two.. I find scenario skirmishing fun with enforced ammo loadout and such (I HATE HIGH-CAPS), but I like MilSim too. Boarder Wars was definetly the best airsoft game I've been to.

im one who also plays in the grey area. my preference is multiple objectives/scenerio based games. only played one mil/sim this past season but there is lots to be said for mil/sim style of play. this one was "DIRTBAG" and "SEEKAH'S" 16 hr long tac/sit and it was a blast. the intensity of that game was amazing. the enemy accidently breached our perimiter at two of our preset reloading zones. we were only allowed to refill our mags at these locations,with limitation on hi-caps and a ban on box mags you can see our dilema! by the time it was all said and done all of our rifleman were out of ammo,i was down to 12 rds in my socom,our snipers were handcuffed by engagement ranges and were down to pistols,even had a couple of our defenders mercy kill with emty weapons! super intense play! on a side note "DIRTBAG" is setting up four more of those style of games for the coming season.
