AK47 Full stock to folding stock?

IS the any way that I can change my AK from having a solid stock, to a folding, or wire stock?

Thanks

Zack

Depends on the stock, I assume you mean AKS stock (underfolding). You'd need an AKS receiver, AKS stock, front wiring set, and the stock folding hardware. And a stick battery to go on top of the receiver.

So basically, you need half an AEG.

Unless you want the side-folding style. I saw one going on WGC, a Romanian style side folder. The only modification required was to cut off the stock tangs, file it some, and it slid in.

And rewire to a stick battery.

If you already have an AK-s frame, it should be reasonably easy. The battery is already 'stick' type and fits under the top cover of the action. That means if the setup for the stock allows it (screw placement) you can add what you want.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but where would one find wire stocks, such as the one pictured in this photo?

Second one down, first row. I've checked RedWolf and WGC, nothing.

Actually WGC had one of those at some point. Get it off RSOV.com.

Found it, what kind of modification is needed to put it onto the gun, other than rewiring the battery. (Fullstock TM here.)

Nothing as far as I know and read.

If you mean the one with the foregrip: apart from rewiring, having the right frame and using stick instead of Large batteries? Nothing.

Just have to match up the correct screw pattern on the frame.

Thats the Romanian stock I was talking about earlier. The one I saw on WGC was China made and only required removing the stock tangs from a full stock receiver. It wouldn't fit the AK-47S.

You had to remove the tangs? I thought it fit the regular tangs... guess I didn't pay close enough attention.

I'm reluctant to suggest removing or sawing off tangs. Simpler to buy another frame. You then get a choice to go back to the original configuration with almost no effort (or costs).

As a side note, at $60 this is probably the stock I'll get for that AIMS project.
