Aside from some critical errors in the article, it was nice to see someone just write about it instead of castrating it.
Most writers need to get noticed, its their bread and butter. Airsoft is an easy target. I'm sure an article written like this will create more interest then concern. On the other hand, college/university is not an ideal time to get into the game.

Not crazy about the fact the the writer suggested to go out and find any area away from the public to play airsoft. It would have been much better if it stated that airsoft should be played on offical (paintball) or private fields.

The article didnt really think about the state of mind canadian airsofters were in. The fact that it's pretty much 18+ everywhere for good reasons and that not exactly anybody can play the game unlike paintball

Not to mention the time constraints, and the travelling to get to some of the more organized games. Also, thinking about the AEG you ordered, and dwelling on it night and day, is a major distraction from your studies!

And that a large part of post secondary is parties and such, people get so stupidly drunk that anything could happen.
Where can I get some of this ball bearing ammo?

I have a feeling I may sit down and pen a letter to the editor in response to that article...

Ya, I agree with Chief. No need to blow this one up. If it was in the Globe it would be a different story.
On a side note, I knew this article was going to be a little on the flakey side after looking at the typesetting. Especially to the right of the lower picture... At least they set it ragged.

When I saw your post, I read the article. In this case the writer might welcome another view on the sport. But on the whole, I find folks who just don't "get" airsoft about as easy to talk to as someone who is very set in their religion/politics/whatever. Some minds just can't be changed, even with a crowbar.

That guy wasn't particularily well informed. I liked the article that was in the calgary herald a while back a lot better.
