New Airsoft User
Hey guys,
I'm a noob to the whole Airsoft thing and I've been reading around trying to get a feel for things. Basically I want to buy my first Airsoft and I've decided to go with a "Classic Army M15 A4 Carbine Full Metal" (AEG). http://www.007airsoft.com/products/htm/aeg-ca.htm (5th gun down) I'm not planning on doing much gaming, mostly for show for now and I want to add a red dot scope and one of those under-barrel laser pointers. (I'm going purely for looks now and I think it would look good) I have found a few things on 007 but hey, I'm a noob and thought I'd ask some pros if they can give me any pointers or tips on maybe what I should be looking for, expect, get as extras (you get the point)... Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, |

Sure; start with our Information section, then get your age verified, then go see what folks use at games near where you live.
While doing that add where you live in your user profile so other local people can help you. This will save you money, time, and grief. |

... mostly for show?
Decent choice for the gun though. |

007 doesnt have that gun in stock right now. If you go to the top of the page, and click "in stock", you can see what they have.
im just counting down till Jan 14th..... 4 days to go!! |

If you're just looking for a showpiece, I'd reccomend going for TM or JG brand. They're still game-able if you have the urge, but cost a lot less.
Still, it's your call. |

Since he wants a 'look at my hot gun' AEG, Classic Army is a very good choice. If you intend on gaming it, remember that *sometimes* changing the piston head is a good idea on CA AEG's. |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

Piston head? You mean the whole piston right? lol
I find G&P to be far superior to CA in looks, sturdiness, and quality. Not to mention you can keep the stock internals since they're good quality! The only downside is you have to get their gearboxes shimmed before use. |

Don't bash this guy, he's the first self-proclaimed newbie I've seen in a while. Furthermore, he's interested in REAL airsoft, not cheap clear plastic imitations!

Thanks for the quick reply guys,
So they are out of stock? I'll look around some more. I'm in the GTA so I'm planning on attending the Convention. I assume I can get age verification there. Also I take it they will be selling AEGs at the convention? Am I better off looking for something there or ordering online? (or does anyone know where I can get an SR-47 ?? :P) |

SR-47 are not sold as a complete kit.
You would need to modify your own with an SR-47 conversion kit. HurricanE SR47 Conversion Kit is about 500USD. just for the body parts. (mostly sold out) Only one iv seen is Bruce from Bad Karma. Sweet for an armalight. =/
