Spring for 350 FPS
What would be a good spring modification to have 350 fps in a JG HK 416?
Thanks, |

MS100 and a bearing spring guide, I'd say.
JG HK416 is well over 350 stock.

Unless the crony at the last Action Commando game was wrong, it show 420... And it sure felt like it (it kick and made noise!)

What brand of spring would be good?
Also, what is a bearing spring guide? |

Ok honestly.. You should get it open first too see what needs replacing.. make sure you have the cash on hand for parts and 2 weeks till you need your aeg again. Then go from there.

The latest JG HK416's seem to have really strong springs in them...the couple I've seen are shooting over 400fps (410-420fps). I was working on a JG M4 RIS the other night and it was right around 380fps. I didn't get to see the compression of the 416 parts...it was all buttoned up already.
The nut for the piston head screw in the JG M4 that I saw was pretty big. I haven't seen a stock TM one for a while, so I can't quote actual measurements, but I would watch out for a long/thick-coil spring running out of room with both a bearing spring guide and a stock piston-head combo. With the m100 I put into it (after tuning things up), the rifle ended shooting 380fps...right at the power level it started at. I ended up putting in a M90 and it shot 354-356fps (hopup off) in the end. Now the springs might have been mis-labled/packaged...but I've had this happen on more than one build. Most likely attributable to the bearing guide and piston-head nut combo. Anyway...get a variety of springs m90-m100-m110 and chronograph after your build...keep the other springs for later or sell them. |

It's weird how the chinese guns perform. Normally a 110 would be about right
but they have iffy seals so with stock cylinder, heads, etc, you could get as little as 315 or as much as 380 with a 110. There's little consistency with them so you really should change the piston head (prone to cracking anyway) and the cylinder (usually not well cut and the burrs in the port cause hell with the piston head o-ring)

Schwag's got it right...the cylinder was so sharp I almost cut my finger open on it.
The compression of one I had open was very, very good. Not the best, there was the tiniest bit of leakage from the piston head...but definitely acceptable. With any of the other piston/piston-head combos I had lying around...the piston/cylinder seal was horrible (but maybe that's why those pistons are in rifles... ). I didn't have any other stock cylinders to compare the other way around. Anyway...I wouldn't expect any AEG to be works of art...but with a little lovin' they can certainly perform beautifully! It's been said over and over...excellent value for a base...little bit of work...and you're good to go. But plastic bodies suck (just personal preference...the quality of the plastic bodies is actually quite nice). |

I never get sick of hearing that. Thanks

Would going with a:
Guarder Airsoft AEG Reinforced Full Gearbox Set -- For Marui M4A1/M4-RIS/S-System Series -- "BORE-UP / Infinite-Torque Up for SP130-SP170" Or Guarder Airsoft AEG SP120 Full Tune Up Kit -- For Marui M4A1/M4-RIS/SR-16/M733 Series -- Be overkill? I would of course change the spring to SP100 |

Guarder SP90 Prom. MS100SP KM 100M Angel 130% All get about 340 in that P90. I'd get the Prometheus. You must note the manufacturer. Not all 110 springs are the same. the Madbull one gave me like 415FPS in my P90. |
