Actually, by the time I finish upgrading my TM-based C8A2 and CA M15 rifle, I will actually be only a couple of parts short of another Armalite AEG, so I may just take up that challenge.

If you have to ask that question about something so basic and fundamental, perhaps building your own AEG without the personal guidance of someone experienced is a bad idea. But regardless, shims are tiny metal washers used to correctly space the gears in your gearbox.

No its the rail system that won't go on snug to the threads it aint straight the rail like it don't line up with the sight and stuff..I can do the gearbox and stuff but the rail system where it bumps out so you can put you assesories on it aint straight with the sight and the top of the metal body...hope u understand sorry..I'm just not feeling to good if u can't read or understand

You need some kind of washer/spacer to put between the rail system and your metal body so when you thread the front end on (however it works in your case) the spacer will shorten the 'threading distance'. You'll have to add/remove spacers until things thread on straight. I'm not sure where you can buy them but you can try to make them yourself. Some front end kits come with these spacers. Make sense?

sorry, I have no idea what I just wrote above...continuing on... Well, if your setup is wired to the rear and you have a sopmod/crane stock, you could put a crane battery (8.4v or 9.6v...get the largest MAH you can afford). You might need to do some fitting to the body to run the wires. If it's front wired and you're going to use the battery box, you'll have to find a battery that fits that box (not hard, but they come in different shapes and sizes so you've got to match it up). If your rail system has holes in the handguard you can feed the power wires through that way. Done well, that looks ok (not sure if it's sick enough for you). Done badly and it will look like ass. Hope that answers your question...not sure.. |
