Dilemma
Basically I'm undecided between a CA m15a4 Carbine and one of the CA mp5's. Now with respect to looks I like both equally. Does anyone know if there are any differences in:
-FPS -Accuracy -Durability (External & Internal) -Consistency of shots If anyone has any experiences to share that would help me decide it would be greatly appreciated. My review search didn't tip me one way or another. However I got the impression that the selector switch on the mp5 tends to be a bit dodgy. Any help would be greatly appreciated since I feel like I REALLY cannot decide :banghead: Thanks in advance, Sindagon |

Have you considered the size of the weapon vs your body type?
Do you have abnormally long arms for example? IMO both are excellent choices |

Those two guns will perform pretty much the same stock. It really comes down to what you're more comfortable with.

I'm average height (roughly 180cm) so both would be fine. I think what will help me decide is the experiences people had. Also, the m15a4 carbine houses an 8.4 mini battery whilst a full stock mp5 can take a large size 8.4. Is there anny significant difference here?

from my experience, large batt makes all the difference. For play time, ROF and pushing a larger spring in future mods. It i were you I'd go with the MP5, then you can end up with a large batt and wont have to fight with the armailite barrel wobble.

Mp5s have shorter barrel but are so easy to move with. Also, I prefer the split body of the mp5 to a solid upper receiver.
Only down side is the longer mag. Mp5 hicaps can be annoying to wind.

I thought that there is no barrel wobble whatsoever on the CA m15a4's. I thought it was only a marui problem and that CA had solved this ? Am I right or wrong??

armalight barrel wobble is only on older TMs (I think they MAY have fixed it) but still TM only
Also, I personally would go for the m15, longer barrel and all... though I'd put a crane stock for a custom large battery on it. but on the other hand, you can (in some cases) fit 4 mp5 mags into a double armalight mag pouch (my vest does at least) ALSO for the love of god at least don't get an mp5sd they are fugly |

I run the intellect 9.6 v 2000 mah nunchuk style batteries in my m-4's and they go all day no problem and even if it was get extras.

The Barrel Wobble issue was resolved in the TM models (at least in the TM M4 S system).
If you are intending on internal upgrades having the large battery space already available will save you money in the future unless you don't mind not maximizing your upgrades potential with the smaller battery in the AR.

Once upon a time, when shopping for my first AEG, I was torn between the TM M733 and the TM MP5. After much asking, pondering, etc. I settled on the MP5. Haven't turned back since, and that was in 2004 I got mine. Hell, I even got a second one I love them so much, less problems than Armalites, more accurate too. At least the TM ones are, the CA ones will be very good after at least replacing the piston/head, tappet and spring guide. And hop up rubber, CA uses crap.

My CA MP5A5 is amazing. For a small gun thats stock it shoots far, and hard! I recommend the B&T MP5's. Get an aramalite after

I personally like the break down of the CA MP5s and G3s. Two pins and you're down to motor removal and the hopup and barrel just slides out. I would still get the M4 though. I personally like the full stock on M4s and would consider that option a win-win on barrel length, battery storage and accessories. Like almost everyone has said they are both great choices.

I probably will get the m15a4 carbine then since the argument of the barrel wobble is now obsolete. However i read that some people had their pistons stripping. is this a general CA problem? what can be done to prevent this and is it a big hassle? Basically the only upgrades i want to do to my gun are to make it more durable not to increase fps since otherwise i'll skip my club's limit.
thanks |
