Best airsoft Armalite?
Hey guys.
I'm thinking of getting a armalite to add to my collection, and I'm wondering, whats a good one besides the PTW's (too expensive)? I'm thinking of going for the CA M15A3 from 007 Airsoft. Thanks! |

I hear STAR makes a damn good one.

Get Age Verified and you'll find a lot better prices in the classified sections here. The CA's aren't a bad choice (they have metal bodies which is always nice). If you tell us what specifically are you looking for (performance, durability, looks etc.) and how much are you willing to spend people can help you a lot more.

Yeah, sorry I didn't be more specific. I'd like to have something good out of the box that will last me. I'm looking for anything less than about $850.
And I am probably going to get age verified sometime soon I know the prices are cheap in the classifieds (or so I've heard). |

For $850, the best bet out there is a Classic Army M15 of some flavour or another. You get a nice, solid, metal gun that won't fall apart on you. They come with reinforced mechboxes and gears too. I keep hearing their compression parts are bad, but after 20 000 rounds when I finally upgraded mine, there wasn't the slightest sign of wear anywhere inside the gun.
And get a good quality, high capacity battery (2000 mAh and above) and a good charger. Those cheap wall-wart chargers are shitty. Cheap batteries aren't much good either. That shoud put you just under $850 right there.

Well I just read a review on the STAR M4 and it sounds like a great gun. Does anyone know where I could get one and how much they would cost?
Thanks a ton! |

Anyhoo, back to the best AR (excluding PTWs). In terms of what's available this moment, the most powerful out-of-the-box performers are probably from KWA, while STAR has the most innovative internals. With the upcoming release of Systema's Revolution mechbox, it might be more of an issue of externals (i.e. pick the gun with the best externals and drop a Systema box in).

depending on how much the revolution box's will be, I might end up building my own m4 around that gearbox

building an armalite around a gearbox is way more cost effective then any other gun. Parts are everywhere and you have alot of options

Systema Complete Gearbox (M120 High Torque)
M4 Body of choice from G&P Grips/ Stock/ Rails/ Handguards of Choice (Find what you like, I suggest King Arms) That's my suggestion. You can get it all in country. Get a gun that's decently close to a systema for about 500-600 ish (800 at the high end) depending on what you get for accessories and such. Not including labour/ gun tech costs.
