Gun internals and G36 Questions
So I will be trying to throw a gun together from parts, maybe insane but I want to give it a shot. If all else fails I can use the parts for selling or a soon to be purchased gun.
As far as I can tell from my knowledge and from research, I need: Mechbox, Complete hopup unit Barrel Wires/plugs (14G and deans best correct?) And body. Right/wrong? Going to be trying to build up a G36-C. And I was wondering if I found correct (Best to be safe then sorry) A best fit G36 C barrel, would be a 6.04 x 455 mm ? If anyone is a G36 finatic (Like Amos and the Krakens) please PM I probably can use a ton of your help in the weeks to come. Any advice and or tips be apreciated. Thanks in advanced. |

A G36C barrel is 247mm. I don't think building one is particularly cost effective.

It may not be 100% cost effective, but for me... Buying a part here and there will slightly do me better, and I get a tickle of joy seeing nothing come to something
Thanks aswell. |

Where do I come off as a Kraken Fanatic? I have only one that I used as a base for one project.... I just know the inside of the kraken boxes and what needs to be changed..
Anyway, Scratch building a G36 is a bad idea... There's not enough parts / wide selection of parts available for them... Building an aramalite or Ak is one thing, but as soon as you start venturing into anything past that it gets much, much more difficult. |

Parts building applies better to m-4 series or AK series. i doubt youd be able to find a shell of a g36.

Sorry, my bad. From seeing your posts I found a good chunk of them concerned the Kraken / AK and you know alot about them.
Calling you a fanatic was my wrong choice of words,I believe you are more so a man of great knowledge about them? It may be hard, but if so, greater the glory if I do acheive my goal, twice the shame if I don't And I am concerned about the shell, I figure that will be the first part I get, if I don't, keep on saving till I get enough to buy one, plus I will be/trying to get age verified and search in the for sale section. |

G36 shells have popped up occasionally, not always including all them screws of weird sizes are available.

Have you priced it all out for total cost? Unless you already have 70%+ parts already from other projects it probably would be cheaper just buying a Jg g36c and some upgrade parts (6.03 barrel, 9.6v battery, etc).
Kind of like "hi guys I'm going to build a new car from scratch buy buying all the parts seperately." Probably much more expensive because retailers have a mark up for each part you buy. If you buy the car already built the markup won't be as high. Not to mention all the time you will spend building it. You could have used all the extra money and time on cheap hookers and pizza and beer. lol

14AWG will not fit into a g36 body. Hell, Im having issues with my 16AWG. Deans + No Fuse = nice ROF increase to be sure. As for scratch building one, the only part your going to have a hard time finding is the grip. I know others have had issues with him in the past, but Warther's Originals in the states caries all the parts (minus inner barrel) to scratch build a 36c, including a complete mechbox. I've ordered quite a bit from him, and as long as your patient (and I mean patient, the guy has a life too) you'll get your stuff at a reasonable rate.

Ive had to replace lots of g36 parts for customers and they are damn hard to find. It is definately not a gun you want to try and build from scratch, you will have an extremely hard time finding all the little bits (springs , mag catch, selector switch) which you need for the gun to function.

i told the lats guy that wanted to do this.... 1.buy a gun 2.disassemble it 3. mail all the little parts back to your house 4.build gun.

Hmm... I'm looking for parts to upgrade my Star G36 but I can't seem to find any barrels for it (495mm), I want a tightbore but seeing as their are no specific barrels, what are my solutions aside from a longer flash hider.
(If anyone has read anything about my G36 posts, I've opted to go with the Star model because I'm upgrading all of the internals.)

Hmm, maybe you're right.. I do want realism and I've heard that the Star body is more realistic and has the scope w/ red dot... but if it'll be way more than the CA.
As for the barrel, someone on another forum said to use a 509mm m16 barrel...
