Gas airsoft on compressed air?

I was thinking about it I'm not sure if it would work but it would require a special pump adapter.

Why no just use propane if your going to go through the hassle of compressed air?

Was there meant to be a question in the OP? Or did you intend for it to be an odd statement of your thought-process? O.o

It's entirely possible using a regulated HPA setup, ala paintball. CO2 tends to be a more common conversion since the 12g capsules are so convenient. KWC actually makes a 12g CO2 adapter that simply threads into where your fill valve would be, but I think more people would recommend a Palmers Pursuit or other high quality regulator, especially for high precision stuff like gas sniper rifles.

For example, HPA or CO2:

the KWC CO2 adapter on an Maruzen M870:

You can check www.classicairsoft.net for a LOT more info on externally gas powered airsoft guns.

Now, if you meant a manual air pump like on some BB/pellet guns, well that would be a lot more work than it's worth, while also being less efficient and less consistent than something running pre-charged from a tank.
