Building from scratch.
Im really keen on building a SR47 from the base up but i need some help? Ive searched a little and will continue to but this will be my frist gun and dont know to much about internals. If i just buy the kit and get the grip and stock, what internals will i need for to get the gun up and running? I dont want the gun to run to hot, 350fps ish? But id like it to be reliable and consistant.
Does anyone have experiance with the Systema full tune up kits? Looks like ill need an inner barrel too, any recommendations? Thank you in advance, back to searching for me . Retro |

Pretty much all the parts you may end up needing are out there to build an AR-family gun from scratch. I presume you're looking at the Hurricane SR47 body kit?
The biggest problem you're likely to encounter is parts inter-compatibility, both for internals and external parts (i.e., matching up parts from different manufacturers). For internals, try to stick to one or two brands overall. For externals, sometimes you just don't have a choice: have a dremel handy. Systema FTK: I like Systema parts overall, never used the FTKs, too much stuff I didn't want/need. I don't like their springs (prefer Prometheus myself: YMMV). I also seem to always end up using non-Systema gears. The Prometheus 6.03 usually performs nicely. On low velocity guns, the Tanio Koba twist inners are supposed to be nice (Illusion [I think?] has a big thread about it, very informative). I have one of black MadBull inners somewhere, but haven't tried it yet. If you're building everything from scratch I recommend you go straight to Deans plugs right off the bat. Might want to throw in a MOSFET too if you're building a gearbox from scratch (again its a matter of preference, YMMV, there's discussion threads about it elsewhere).

Thanks for the good info drake. Yea i was going to use the hurricane kit if i cant get my mitts on it. So im going to try and get stuff thats all TM compatable to keep the head ache to a minimum. I may just end up gettin a tm m4a1 to canabalize to get the gun up and running then upgrade from there.
After reading some thing on the MOSFETS, they seem way over my head right now. So i was looking at one of the Systema drop in boxs with the FET switch. Then swap out the spring it comes with so its not shooting overly hot. Thanks again, keep the advice commin guys Retro. |

Yeah you'll definitely need to get one of the retailers to special order it for you. And given the price in HK, be ready to pay close to $1000.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Modify and I have used their FTK in a G36; aside from the modular gears (which kick ass by the way!), their parts are well made.
They have variable springs (An S90 should get you to where you want, an S100 is about 360fps.) Jugglez at airsoftparts.ca can get you one for about $150.

dude the sr hurrcaine conversion kit with the vfc gun cost like 1200 usd on uncompany so good luck on that 1000 estament. your better off seeing if you can get a whole gun imported its less of a hassele and will be cheeper if its a lower brand name that said an importer will have to do it, me iv personlay wantted one of theys their just not worth it as the hop up to the body is pure coustom basicly.

I never put a price on it, someone else did. I know to build it would cost upwards of $2000-2500 for a complete up and running gun with the parts i was looking at. Perfromance wise i know there not amazing but its the look i really wanted and i am willing to pay to play :P. The risk of gettin the gun imported complete is to high, hell ive been looking for just the kit but cant find anyone that deals in hurricane that can get metal bodys into the country right now.
Thanks for the info guys, im gonna keep lookin around and see what i come up with. Retro |

If you can find a systema m100 drop in gearbox you won't have to get a different spring and it'll still shoot roughly 350fps.
