Did I get a lemon?
Hey guys.
I recently bought a CA M15a4 (thanks for all your help in giving me advice, by the way). I did a ton of research before I bought it and most sites say that the effective range is around 130 feet. One site (shortyusa) said it could hit a torso sized target at 50 yards (150 feet) There is noooo way my gun can do this. 35 yards, yes. But 50, no way. Did I get a lemon or is my gun fine? Also on a side note, does a tightbore increase range as well as accuracy? Thanks in advance. -Brett

Try running .25 bbs.
You should get a very slight increase in range. Also adjust the hop-up correctly. That might be the cause of your issue. But that is a normal range for a stock AEG. |

What bb's were you using at first?...
Sometimes the brand affects your gun, but its mostly quality and weight that matters. 0.20 bb's shoot farther but less accurate than a 0.25 bb 0.20 is also affected more by wind than a 0.25 bb Clean your barrel, maybe put a touch of silicone spray into your bb feeding tube? Switch to a better brand of bb at 0.20gram weight for maximum FPS. (Well total maximum fps would be using a 0.12gram bb, but the quality is shit and they fly like crazy while wearing down your hop-up) A tightbore will increase your FPS, very very slightly. Slightly higher fps = slightly longer range. Tightbore = more accuracy. I dont know much about CA guns, but this is just general stuff... Also, did you ever come to think that maybe those websites lied to you?

Well that might be your problem..
You need to tune it to what gets the farthest... not just crank it on max. |

I can put the hopup to the point where .2g's curve up but the dial goes back to where you can have maximum hop without the bb defying gravity Thanks for the quick responses. EDIT: I can hit a man sized target at 35 yards with the hopup all the way up. However if turned down this becomes impossible.
