Unverified To Buy Airsoft Parts?
Ok, i have a question to Airsoft Canada and am wondering peoples thoughts on the issue. I know im probably going to get people asking, "how did you get the gun?" and get ragged on in that manner. Im 17 years old (soon to be 18 mind you) and just got myself into the airsoft scene. I had my parents approve for buying myself my first AEG (A TM m4 clone with a v2). Now heres what i'm wondering about... To buy parts and accessories you do not have to be 18, only to buy a full gun right? Well when i bought my first gun it came from the states and warranties and such are not applicable to international buyers. Thinking to myself "its brand new and if internals go, there easy to replace in Canada". I opened the box and the lower receiver has a large crack on the mag well, (The body is plastic crap). I was not very happy about this as i had no idea how I could buy a new body because Canadian retailers do not sell them and solid colour bodies are not passible through the Canadian border. I was wondering if Airsoft Canada could have a parts section available to people like me who are not yet age verified (as some people may be over 18 but just cant get verified over their own reasons) have problems like this but cannot buy replacement parts due to the slim-pickins in Canadian retailers. Now before you start freaking on me remember im new to this and am learning a lot as i go. I just want to play.

The parts section is restricted to stop underage people from buying parts and building an entire gun from scratch (which has happened).

When you become verified, you will be able to purchase BNIB metal receivers from the classifieds.
You are no longer allowed to purchase parts form ASC unless verified. |

If you're 17 you'll be able to fix it next year.

Yea i am waiting (it sucks but will be worth it... i'll just upgrade other things in the meantime). I can still use my gun, just gotta be careful thats all. I was just curious on the idea.

As for parts in Canada, other than receivers, there's a cornucopia of replacement and upgrade parts available, be it for internals or externals, that are available without the requirement of being 18. With your M4, there are probably more Armalite parts available than for most other types of guns combined. And you don't need to get into the ASC classifieds to get them.

FYI the lower receiver on an AR is considered the gun itself, thus you have to be 18 to buy that too.

Now, if the receiver showed only safe and semi, THEN theoretically with a PAL and a proper export permit from the United States you COULD then bring a metal body across. Last edited by Drache; September 6th, 2008 at 20:06.. |

the receiver is the restricted part of an airsoft gun, therefore it cannot be imported by just anyone, the retailers with proper importation licences, CAN import a receiver for you, but since most of them have an 18+ policy then YOU cannot buy one from them. There are people in the parts classifieds that sell receivers that they have procured by whatever means, dont ask dont tell. |

Exactly what everyone else said, if you need non restricted parts... you can just buy them yourself through ehobbyasia.com , redwolfairsoft.com , ebaybanned.com , wgcshop.com and many other places... but the restricted stuff can only be had by being verified.
ASC made all the buy/sell section on here restricted for the age verified members only... because previously only the gun sales and non-airsoft sales were restricted and for a while some underage n00bs were buying all the parts necessary to make a gun and building it themselves or taking it to a local gundoc who assembled the guns. Also some members were selling "parts guns" where they only needed minor work to be fully operational and when sold to one person that was not age verified it was an easy way for them to have an almost fully functional gun

Nope. Replicas are prohibited, even if semi auto marked.
