Lights, Camera, Airsoft. (hinestly who still has 56k... if you do beware)
hello all, some may remember that i was in school for film production. well, i graduated in may and looking back on the last two years of my life, i cant even begin to describe the experiences i had or the people iv met. it has honestly been the greatest, and hardest time of my life.
so i thought it may be neat to see some pictures from the action sets that i supplied my gear too as well as ones i filmed and even my own thesis film. i hope you enjoy these pictures. (please note that the police were always informed of gun use during these films and all proper notification practices were always followed) ill start things off small, this is a small untitled zombie short i did for fun one afternoon a thesis ww2 film i was b unit camera/ stedicam op (thats me on the left) real steel on this set a short to test a new film stock my thesis film (can you believe that i was short on extras and had to play 4 different guards... im the director) http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...g?t=1221042625 a friends first year thesis (i was DOP/props) the first film i lent out my stuff on "Action the movie" thunder bay airport hanger (used for swat training) Make it short film project "g8" i was a grip on this one but that quickly turned into props once they needed swat getups "basin city" i was CG'd as every cop in the film thats all for now, i hope you enjoyed them. ill post up screenshots of these films tomorrow if i can find them Last edited by White_knight; September 13th, 2008 at 11:33.. |

we had 24 / 7 access to all the equipment when ever we wanted, free of charge. as well as a computer for ever student. and the teachers themselves are awesome, they have a bbq twice every year at there houses and really were friends with the students. its hard to discribe here's what the area looked like studio classroom / greenscreen room 1st year editing lab 2nd year editing lab sound room ( recording booth = left window, window looking into the greenscreen room on the right) mixing room (theres two) not shown is the colour room |

That looks awesome man I am just about to start film school at AI Vancouver and I am sure that a few guns may see the light of day in my films.
ps. I still have 56k but only because in my area we can't get anything better.

I go to York University for film production, but man White_Knight, from the looks of it, the production value looks like it was through the roof, I hope you shit dollar coins when you go to the john !
Speaking of which, I should post some of the pictures I took while I was an A.D. of a short action film... Good work White_Knight, I didn't know Thunder Bay had a film school, or even a college to begin with ! |

i just finished getting some screencaps of the one of the movies so ill post um up in a second. and actualy all equipment was free we dont have to rent it. thats the one thing i loved the most you could book out stuff anytime and go film something hell for my film that i directed, i had 3 panisonc hvx200's shooting simultaniously at full 1080 24p. two of which were on stedicam.... ill try to find a pic of that too . in the end i had so much footage that i could recut my movie and not use a single angle twice *Edit* here are some screencaps of "life at its worst" (i was b-unit stedicam on this one) Last edited by White_knight; September 10th, 2008 at 16:44.. |

The post production finishes on the WW2 film really set the era. I'm a fan of films that use similar effects. I suppose it's par for the course these days (since Saving Private Ryan), but I still like it.
