You should definitly use the brass collar that came with it as it helps stabalize the hop up to the barrel.

Thought I read somewhere that it was only used with the systema barrels ? Does it go into the hop up too ? My first time dealing with hop ups.

I have a metal G&P hopup for my AUG, and the brass barrel doesn't fit on the barrel with the metal hopup, so I just left it off. No ill effects for me.

It doesn't hurt, that's for sure, so if it fits go for it. If it won't go in (some are a tight fit, depends on the diameter of the outside of the inner barrel) then don't sweat it too much.

i thought they were sposed to be a tight fit. also thought they were to help the airseal. i have them on all my guns hop ups and ive never seen a hop unit that didnt come with one

They keep the barrel in line which helps a bit with air seal and accuracy. I was missing the one on my ICS M4A1 and didn't notice for a very long time (until I took it out to swap for a tightbore) so it's not essential.

I'll fool around with it in a little bit and see what's the best outcome...Thanks for all the help guys. Is there anything I should know when it comes to putting it together...as far as assembly goes ?

Thanks guys. Got the hop up installed but now i'm running into a problem with the bb's not feeding right at first but after several rounds it works fine. Any idea what would be causing this ?

have you done any gearbox upgrades? might be the mags. If you know anybody with working mags, test them in your AEG.

Could be the mags. You could also try putting some silicone oil in the hopup, put a drop or two into the feed tube with the gun upside down, then dry fire a few times, followed by testing with bb's.

Yeah everything is working fine. I just went from the TM style hop up to a 1 piece hop up. a round will come out every other shot at first then after a few rounds it works perfect. I've tried 2 different mags and does it with both.
